Brother Memnonic - MK7 "Aquila" Real Life Power Armour Build

Recommended Posts

Aaaand... Another small update. And again it's Arendil's work. This time next version of elbow armor. Tell me what you think about it's accuracy.

And yes, we would like to create FULLY fluff-accurate armor.

Emperor with you,

Brother Memnonic

And... Final model update. This shall be all in the 3D modelling part. Now pepping...

Well, tell me what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome. It's always better to correct something now than after 30 hours of glueing a model in paper. :)

And I know that the legs look a little bit short, but that's the fault of inner human model not visible on the hips height and the angle of the camera.. There will be also a lot of soft padded armor in there, so I think it's going to look correct. Also the legs position is a bit unnatural.

No more talking. Pics!

And again, please, give me comments and criticism. Can't do much without community opinions and support.

Emperor bless you,

Brother Memnonic

It seems to me like the arms are out of proportion, especially the forearm, obviously being the same length as the hand. I think you might need to make the arms a little longer...

That's just the imperfection of human hand in this model. It is out of scale and waaaaaaaaaay too long. IRL this piece of armor is as long as my forearm up to my elbow.

If there aren't any more comments on fluff accuracy, I guess that Arendil and me can get to pepping.

Emperor bless you,

Brother Memnonic

So...

Finally, I'm finished with my exams. Project is back on my worktable. Hope to finish it by the end of July. As a birthday gift for myself. :D

First update in this series is modest - a new forearm armour pep. Tell me how you see it, because I think I've oversized it a bit.

To be done in pep are left - leg armour after all fixes and crotch armour. And - I fear so - two times forearm and two times elbow armour. I hope my ordered resin will arrive this week.

May the Emperor bless you,

Brother Memnonic

part of me thinks it needs to be a bit larger. power armor is spos to be about 8 incehs think on the torso and mid section and 4 to 5 inches on the extremities. i always thought the picture of the Crimson fist guy walking was the perfect proportion.

otherwise your a braver man then me. i just finished my suit of Clone armor for the 501st its ruff lol

@sugar-free: Heh, that would be awesome. But I can see some logistic problems with this idea.

@Task Force Gauntlet: Yup. I'll have a 3 liter Camelbak in the backpack. Otherwise it would be impossible to wear it during summer heats. Even with planned cooling system.

@RedMoon: I'm afraid that getting the armour to this thicknesses would make it unwearable. This one still interrupts movement pretty much...

@Excessus: Do you mean this tube-like things on the abdomen armour? I'm currently working on this issue. It's named "How to make abdomen armour from three plates that won't interrupt my bending much?". I think that I'll go with three plates of thick rubber on my underarmour and these three wires on top of this, connected to the belt buckle.

I have a challenge for you. I've spoken to guys from the 501st Stormtrooper group. Apparently they cant sit in their armor. So they stand around as long as possible , then disperse. Can you solve this in power armor? I figured SCA guys might have an answer but who knows. Good luck and good work.
