slaine69
yo guys the guy I've been doing commissions for for the last couple of months has given me permission to show some of the work I've done for him (cheers Gareth!) hope you guys like it, more soon, http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/338/1/3/ragnar_blackmane_by_slaine69-d347qgp.jpg I hate you. In other words, that looks awesome. haha cheers dude. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/338/1/3/ragnar_blackmane_by_slaine69-d347qgp.jpg If you were a woman. I'd club you over the ehad and drag you to my cave.. In this case I'm just forced to hate you with every fibre of my being. Fethin' awesome stuff dude. I'm only a woman on Saturdays..........that said cheers! Damn fine work, sir, damn fine! why thankee! much obliged Apparantly being hated is high praise here. as a supporter of the chaos aspect I think a wholesome amout of hate is a good thing to have! cheers dude Amazing stuff slaine, absolutely love it. Now, I don't mean to burst your praise bubble (I just have a critical eye with art) :P , but the Frost Blade doesn't make sense and doesn't work. You need to reverse the facing on the teeth on one side I think. Again sorry to be the first to criticize but it's just me being me :) , however the musculature on that Ork is amazing! And you've managed to capture the rag tag chaotic sense of both Orks and a SPace Wolf in fight!! :P no problem man as fans of 40k I would expect nothing less, I'll get all the frost blade comments answered in one at the end of the post thanks for looking dude much appreciated. Wow that looks very good mate! Do you have some more artwork that you can share with us? In 1920x1080 wallpaper size perhaps? :P thanks man! sure, I post the majority of my work on my deviant art page, this is a link to the 40k section http://slaine69.deviantart.com/gallery/6910683 Maybe the sword is not actually a Chainsword, only looks like one. Oh, and now you made me happy for painting such awesome picture of my favorite Space Wolves character! Ran sweet dude glad you like it dear Emperor man! this is fabulous! I'd put money that BL would use that for the next Ragnar cover if you sent that in. Really though, the detail and intricacy is incredible! 11/10! thanks dude I really appreciate that. Honestly, ive never been sure if the teeth on the frostblade actually spin. hehe me niether! Now, I don't mean to burst your praise bubble (I just have a critical eye with art) :( , but the Frost Blade doesn't make sense and doesn't work. You need to reverse the facing on the teeth on one side I think. It's not a chainsword, as Ranwulf pointed out. It's just a barbed/toothed sword. Take a closer look at the "wolf's mouth" doesn't actually accommodate a chain blade. -Angelfire *tshhhht-refere to last comment-out-tshhhht*
slaine69
Wicked. I'd have liked to see the scene about 3 seconds from there, though. The one where that squig on a chain in the background eats his bolt pistol whole  3 seconds form this point Ragnar might have a bit more of a fight on his hands (refering to foreground shadow of warboss on floor) @Ranwulf, Mithril Hound & Angelfire: I always envisioned them as special chainblades, especially after reading in the codex something about chainblades with Kraken Teeth. It also appears to look like a chainblade in the Omnibus artwork and I assumed it had a compressed motor rather than those bulky ones. But that's just me, still an awesome piece of art there slaine! thanks man Codex: Space Wolves: Page 57, last paragraph: "Amongst the most prized weapons of the entire Chapter, each Frost Blade and Frost Axe is crafted by a master Iron Priest. Many Frost Blades use the diamond-sharp fangs of the Ice Kraken for their chainsaw blades..." It's a chainsaw, with moving teeth. Still, they look badass enough, and sharp enough, that they could easily cut, regardless of direction. Amazing piece of artwork Slaine. You've outdone yourself! heh can't argue with that! cheers man. Looks great though I think their should be more blood coming from the decapitated ork. thanks dude there was going to be, but I liked the idea if the frost blade having the same effect as a hammer on a nitrogen frozen ....uh...ork, kinda like a greenskin version of the foundry scene in T2 Praise Russ! I can't give an unbiased opinion. :P sweet cheers dude Can you make a larger version? I totally want this as my desktop wallpaper Also great work, i'm going to go sit in my corner of shame now I would, but this is a commissioned picture only the guy who paid for it gets the full sized version, sorry dude, and thanks Very nice piece, it really shows the ferocity and dynamism of the Space Wolves and Ragnar Blackmane in particular. Great work! cheers man, they are indeed a rowdy bunch. omg...rofl...lol...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! excellent my good friend!! amazing! haha cheers man glad you like it The whole issue with the chain teeth direction can be explained by suggesting there are two sets of teeth, in inner halves of which are within the blade housing, so that the outer edge teeth all move towards the hilt (which would be better for a chainblade anyway). Excellent artwork btw. hah brilliant, I just write this as a reply to a devart post 'I can justify it by saying theres two chains of teeth that meet in the middle (good save eh?)' great minds eh! No matter how hard I try to make something awesome I'm one upped by the pros. I wish I could shake your hand. I have a solution 'INTERNET POST FIVE!!...TSHH' cheers dude absolutely stunning thanks man This is absolutely a work of art 10/10. This is now my IPad's background, keep up the great work. sweet! cheers! (grumbles in jelousy)'I want a i pad' Thats amazing. You ought to send your art to Games Workshop and Black Library, then giggle while you wait for good news! I'd be giggling for a while I sent a bunch o' pictures to then some time around august, nuttin' yet! right now to sort out this frost blade, I did draw the the blade with the idea that the teeth were stationary, which is why they are facing the same way, buuuut after looking at :P loads of reference and some research from Shinzaren, I digress, I got it wrong, I think it was the fact that I never saw a moter on the sword that swayed my opinion and the thought of a compressed moter never occurred to me. That said Yadrinas' idea... 'The whole issue with the chain teeth direction can be explained by suggesting there are two sets of teeth, in inner halves of which are within the blade housing, so that the outer edge teeth all move towards the hilt (which would be better for a chainblade anyway).' ..is way cool, and if I was gonna draw the frost sword again thats how I would do it, so the teeth would be going the same way anyways, I would totally give it a motor too. thanks, guys, for all the comments if I can please hardcore fans then its a job well done, and never be sorry to have that critical edge.
