Nanodave
Can I deploy with troops already embarked on a Stormraven? I wasn't sure because it's not a dedicated transport.

Erasmus of Baal
All that a dedicated transport means is that it doesn't take up a Force ORganization Chart slot and that no unit other than the unit that it is 'dedicated' to can start in it. If a vehicle can carry models and is not a dedicated transport, any unit(s) that can legally fit may begin the game in the transport. TL;DR: yes. Kurb
could you put say Mephy and a termy squad in a stormraven ?
igotsmeakabob!!
As the SR can only hold one unit, and Mephy is a unit himself.. no. It's either or.
Erasmus of Baal
could you put say Mephy and a termy squad in a stormraven ? As igotsmeakabob!! said, no. You could, however, do a Terminator squad and a Dreadnought, which is comparable killing power (possibly even greater, depending on the Dreadnought's loadout). shatter
Or Meph and a DC dread... both models are fleet. DC dreads from SRs have one of the largest threat ranges for assault in the game.

Sorry for clarifying a rule. :) Sadly in my few months of playing I haven't memorized the 100 page rulebook. :) Say 10 Hail Sanguiniuses and 5 Our Emperors during 20 minutes of self flagellation per day for a week and you'll be forgiven for your sins. Some people just like asking questions on a community forum cause they like talking to like minded people. Stefoserpent
Yeah , however you do CAN put 5 terminators + Sang Priest ( lets say a footslogger ) and a Furioso Dreadnought , right? The priest is an IC so... The question is : after deepstriking the raven , can you disembark the terminators and the Dreadnought , but keep the priest inside? Deus_Sanguinius
The question is : after deepstriking the raven , can you disembark the terminators and the Dreadnought , but keep the priest inside? But you are not able to assault the turn you came in via DS. So where is the advantage of that maneuver?
TheMouth
whats funny is the fact that if this was a post about an army list it would be moved...but yet...this is not. Way to go Mods. And seriously these questions are common sense ones that you should all know if you happened to read the rulebook. Apothecary is an IC, read the IC and transports bit of the rulebook. JamesI
There is little reason to move every rules question to the OR section. Especially one already answered. Rules debates are usually allowed to progress here until an answer is reached or a stalemate, then thrown to the OR to get more opinions. If you really think a rules question is so basic as to not require an answer, rather than rudeness, just give a page number in the rulebook to look to or ignore the thread entirely. If you dislike a thread, report it with a reason rather than complaining in the thread and then badmouthing the Mods for not doing what you want done. But you are not able to assault the turn you came in via DS. So where is the advantage of that maneuver? They can run! into better positions or formations or closer to the enemy. The SR can't run! after DS. Next turn, all units are free to go their own way unlike staying in the SR until the following turn. Also, sometimes it's waaaayyy better to disembark heavy units like termies and dreads to block enemy advances... much like drop pods, which one also cannot assault from. Deployment via table edge or on the board at game start, they're assault ready.

How was anything I said rude? How did I in any way bad mouth anyone? Simply stating that I did not think the mods where doing the best they can...is now being rude and bad mouthing? By that standard you saying I am complaining...is bad mouthing... but only by your own standards that is. And to add to Mods not really following their own rules : http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=216621 This is a general rules question that should have been moved to the rules section. I enjoy posting on here as much as the next guy but the amount of rules questions that are not BA specific , even BA specific , is getting a bit out of hand. Somehow I knew you would bring up that thread. It is a very different situation. LoD opened that thread in two locations, I closed one. No need for both. Personally, I find anyone who responds "I wish people would just read the rulebook" rude. Just don't answer if that is all you have to say. Posting something like "There is a rules section, so I can be self righteous if I want" is rude and not constructive. I hope you realize that the Mods are voulenteers who have other duties in our lives. We can't read every thread, and if a problem thread (which this was not) is not reported, sometimes we miss it. Click the report button if you have a problem. If you have a problem with the job the moderators are doing, take it to the Administrators.
