Iron Hands

Howdy

 

Now that my Silver Skulls are nearing completion, its time to start a new marine army. After some serious questions and consideration I have decided to go with Iron Hands. The other contender were Imperial Fists, which I eventually may do, but for now, its time to add yet another army to the 'To do List"

 

My general idea is to go with a more "anime" style/theme for the bionics. In all honestly I have a number of the conversion kits from GW, but the more I look at them, the more I think they were designed by drunken grots and and ADD Mad Doc. My thoughts are that more of the weapons will be built in to the marine as part of the bionic enhancement. I still intend to use soe of the IH conversion kits, but those may also be modifed quite a bit.

 

What I have right now are some iron hands I did for fun several years ago. I like the paint scheme I have going, but the bionics and armor will need some major reworking. They are painted to a decent gaming standard IMHO, nothing special, but fun to do and intersting to look at.

 

Anyhoo, I would appreciate your thoughts and comments on this intial ' Whaddaya think" <_<

Nice take on the Iron Hands scheme <_< Liking the cog symbol being dispersed all over versus just on the shoulder pads.

Nice job, I personally like the Iron Hands kit and think it fits in well with other imperial tech. My one criticism is your chapter symbol, I just prefer the original. Having said that I love the cog motif and if you don't mind I might steal it but I think I would use it to make my sternguard stand out from tacticals more.

These are awesome - I actually like your version of the chapter badge and clan company symbol better than the originals. Not sure about anime-ish bionics, but I'll judge that when I see it. I think you should paint the base edges brown, too.

The Chapter symbol is the original chapter symbol, but you have to go way back to RT days to see it. I took it straight off the mk 6 Imperial space marines box. its weird, I don't know why I have kept it this long, but I have been carting this empty box around for 20 years.

I'm liking what I'm seeing, though I do have to comment that the IH symbol on your avatar looks suspiciously like two crossed battle axes...but that could be me.
