Hey folks of the B&C,

after about a year of inactivity I am now trying to paint my marines in earnest, ie I want to regularly do some work on them. To help with that and to get a few opinions and maybe some ideas on how to paint or build this or that, here is my WIP log. I am also going to create a new IA in the Liber Astartes, but that will take some time yet.

So to start with, here is what I have finished so far. I guess I need a better camera, though, or a lot more practice with this one.

Librarian - working title "Dabos", but I will think of a better name at some point

The first finished tactical squad, sergeant's name is Morte.

Their Rhino - I will at some point in the near future repair the tactical arrow, it is much too small.

Close combat scout squad - I went a little OTT on the sergeant here, I think.

Sniper scout squad with Telion counts-as.

First half of the second tactical squad. I used only the second stage highlight colour on these, I think it looks better than with the rather modest highlights all the other models have up to now.

So much for the finished stuff; now the current WIP: a metal Bjorn the Fell-Handed dreadnought from the early nineties, redecorated with BT and DA bits and with green stuff aztec symbols (which you will not be able to recognize on these pictures anyway). Good old Bjorn.

I want this guy to stand a little higher, not seem as hunched as it normally would, so I did this:

Im not happy with that, yet, though, since it looks way too bland - any ideas on what I could decorate this "extra hip" with? I'm not an ace with GS, but I can do this and that.

That's it for today, hope you liked it!

Quick bit of advice crop the pictures before posting so that only the model and background are shown. It just makes the models look instantly better. But overall the models look quite good. Good bit of free hand work.
