Khiros
So I went to test out a red color scheme on one of my test models today, and when I went to use my Red Gore and Blood Red paints, they were extremely thin, even inside the pots. Is this perhaps because I just didn't mix them well enough? This past Sunday I was using them and they were the normal consistency, and I know I didn't rinse my brush off then dip it into the pots still full of water. Any ideas, or maybe suggestions to thicken them back up a bit? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216700-paint-thinned/ Share on other sites
Obliterator
Yeah, that's a problem I also face all the time with GW's reds. I recently adapted a trick I learned into some White Dwarf, I now mix the red I want 50/50 with Mechrite Red. So for basecoat: 50/50 Mechrite/Red Gore, for 1st highlight 50/50 Mechrite/Blood Red, then 50/50 Blood Red/Blazing Orange, and a thin Vomit Brown edge highlight. Gives you a nice red too IMHO...
