Zeller
I have a Lysander model, mostly, and I have a spare 40mm base. My Lysander has a peg on one foot and a strip of pewter that connects both feet. I assume this is normal? Anywho, am I supposed to cut a groove into the base so the strip can fit snugly or should the strip be removed? Thankyou. Shortsonfire79
Is the peg big enough to fit in one of those holes on the underside of the 40mm? If so, cut off the strip, and then drill a hole into one of those holes on the 40mm, and stick the peg in it. That should be fine. Or, if not, just cut all of the stuff on his feet off, and glue him to the base. The strip and peg are for casting purposes (and slotta bases) and aren't necessary for basing. winterdyne
The peg is useful for basing (in that it helps secure the mini to the base). Without it, your bond is only as strong as the contact area or adhesive holding on your basing material. If you get rid of the peg, it's a really good idea to pin the mini to the base.
