Greetings, brothers and sisters of the Imperium!

Started this a year ago, right after completing my first SoB costume.

Finally revealed yesterday (11/12/10) on 1st day of HobbyCon 2010.

Oh I better clarify. I'm not the one in the Saint costume. This was a commission by the costumer, JnaGG.

Joanna was also the one wearing the first SoB costume I made, which was a commission by shiVER.

To answer your question Zeller, the wings take wind rather well, as the feathers are mounted on fine wire mesh which allow air flow almost unobstructed. There was a good breeze when we were shooting by the river and Joanna never once complained about it being a problem during the entire two hour plus shoot.

Yes the ball and chain is a bit annoying, mainly because its so light and thus gets yanked forward rather rapidly, and the chain do get stuck in the stiletto. But she really can't move around much most of the time due to the size of the wings, especially indoors, and we would remove the ball and chain if she had to walk some lengths, and re-attach when she poses for photos. It just need to have one bolt unscrewed so its super fast to remove and re-attach.

The marine costumes were made by the respective costumers themselves, and this was the first SM build for all of them. Many debates were had about changing various parts of all their costumes, including the shoulder guards, but in the end due to time constrains (both in terms of number of days till event day, and amount of free time available for working on it), they were left alone to be upgraded at a later date.

Nice work on that costume. Do you have a full "how to" available?

Unfortunately, no. Everything were made on the fly and I really didn't know if anything would work until its done, and by then its not possible to take pic of how I made each item.

I do have some WIP pics posted at the following links which you may find helpful.

Looking for a "wing"-tutorial for dummies (last post)

that sob costume is amazing. shouldn't she have a godwyn de'az pattern boltern though?

Thanks for the compliment. ;)

To tell you the truth, I didn't even know about the godwyn de'az pattern bolter until you mentioned it here, and of course didn't know it is the weapon of choice for the Sister of Battle until I Googled it a minute ago...

The only W40K weapon we know is a Bolter, and that's the pattern we found (and made) when Googling for images of it.

I guess the secret is out; I don't play the game or read the codex, I just make the costumes :P
