Zeller
That's a pretty sweet costume. Your facial expression in the third picture reminds me of a piece SoB art. I've got two questions though. 1. What happens when a breeze comes by? 2. Does it get annoying walking around with the ankle accessory? Black Hand
That's a pretty intimidating last picture. The costume itself is crazy good, though! Loken of the 10th
Your costume is awesome. My only complaints is with the marine costumes, the shoulder guards are disproportionally larger then the rest of the body. Especially on the GK but they still look good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216966-saint-celestine-costume/#findComment-2587144 Share on other sites

Nex Concept Works
Oh I better clarify. I'm not the one in the Saint costume. This was a commission by the costumer, JnaGG. Joanna was also the one wearing the first SoB costume I made, which was a commission by shiVER. To answer your question Zeller, the wings take wind rather well, as the feathers are mounted on fine wire mesh which allow air flow almost unobstructed. There was a good breeze when we were shooting by the river and Joanna never once complained about it being a problem during the entire two hour plus shoot. Yes the ball and chain is a bit annoying, mainly because its so light and thus gets yanked forward rather rapidly, and the chain do get stuck in the stiletto. But she really can't move around much most of the time due to the size of the wings, especially indoors, and we would remove the ball and chain if she had to walk some lengths, and re-attach when she poses for photos. It just need to have one bolt unscrewed so its super fast to remove and re-attach. The marine costumes were made by the respective costumers themselves, and this was the first SM build for all of them. Many debates were had about changing various parts of all their costumes, including the shoulder guards, but in the end due to time constrains (both in terms of number of days till event day, and amount of free time available for working on it), they were left alone to be upgraded at a later date. -=Dan=-
Then again you could always drop the wings and armed with a bolter you can make a sisters of battle, maybe a design similar to the medieval sallet helmet and it will look the bees knees also! Disruptor_fe404
There are Conventions in Malaysia now? Aww man, all the good stuff happens after I move out of the country... Great stuff. Although I prefer the SoB costume. Not sure why. Might be the piping and the grenades and the bolter. Maybe. Nex Concept Works
There are Conventions in Malaysia now? Malaysia has had conventions for years now. The biggest one, ComicFiesta, started in 2003 (I think), and HobbyCon, Sabah's one and only such event, started back in 2007. Nex Concept Works
Nice work on that costume. Do you have a full "how to" available? Unfortunately, no. Everything were made on the fly and I really didn't know if anything would work until its done, and by then its not possible to take pic of how I made each item. I do have some WIP pics posted at the following links which you may find helpful. DarKHaZZ13
that sob costume is amazing. shouldn't she have a godwyn de'az pattern boltern though? Still probably the best 40k related costume I have seen mind Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216966-saint-celestine-costume/#findComment-2588992 Share on other sites
Nex Concept Works
that sob costume is amazing. shouldn't she have a godwyn de'az pattern boltern though? Thanks for the compliment. ;) To tell you the truth, I didn't even know about the godwyn de'az pattern bolter until you mentioned it here, and of course didn't know it is the weapon of choice for the Sister of Battle until I Googled it a minute ago... The only W40K weapon we know is a Bolter, and that's the pattern we found (and made) when Googling for images of it. I guess the secret is out; I don't play the game or read the codex, I just make the costumes :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216966-saint-celestine-costume/#findComment-2589082 Share on other sites
lostsoul
What an excellent costume. If our beloved Saint Celestine descended on GW, the urchins in the sculpting dept would have to up their productivity, divinely inspired to get us those long over due plastics. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216966-saint-celestine-costume/#findComment-2589310 Share on other sites
