In need of tips about painting a rune priest

Hello fellow brothers... today i just built my runepriest in power armor from bits and scratch... but i m afraid it will not stand out enought in the middle of the army, as an ic should.., so maybe i could do the trick with paint... but they have not any particular kind of color scheme.. any idea?

Depends on what the rest of your boys look like. Just a few ideas;

Make him darker then the rest of your boys, if you use Lighter Grey as standard, make him darker, though feel free to mix brighter colours for the trim and weapon such as gold to make him stand out. Make him stand out as different in the colour scheme

If he's darker, make him more grand, brighter and attention drawing.

Use Greenstuff for distinictive runes, even if you don't intent to use runic armour to help him stand out. Give him a distinictive weapon that no other space wolf would use, remember, the Rune Priests are very different in temperment in compersion to normal space wolves. They are dark, haunted reserved figures who battle with themselves every day and are ranged users. Give him a weapon that looks the part, even if you have to get really creative. Fantersy weapons can be modified, resin weapons, Grey Knight Nemsis weapons. All those can give him a distinictive appearance that will draw attention to him

I followed your tips and... changed mini, i used one i half made some time ago only to try something new... i finished and painted it, and it surely stand out now LOL

That's one way to get him to stand apart. One way via painting is to up the contrast. Either slightly darker armor compared to the rest of your Army with slightly brighter accents as mentioned above, or go the other way with lighter armor and darker accents. That's just one way to seperate visually with paints yet not make the model look like it belongs to a different Army - play with the contrast ratio.

Here is an old thread I found about RP painting.
