ORIGINS

The Strike Eagles Chapter was formed in the seventeenth founding in the 33rd millennia. The chapter was created in order to build and secure the Imperium after Abaddon had his fourth Black Crusade with intelligence reports that more would come. Though a very old and experienced Chapter, the Strike Eagles do not know where their gene-seed comes from, just that their father Chapter was that of the Imperial Vipers (my very first chapter from ’96). They were based out of the planet Ikarion VII, home too many islands where the inhabitants live and oceans that are too treacherous to travel. The Strike Eagles are masters of the sky, using many jump packs, land speeders, Hammer-wing assault carriers, and Thunderhawk gunships. They believe in being agile, mobile and hostile and thus using the sky to rain down death to the Imperium enemies. They hold to the “One-Faith” where supreme confidence is the strength to defeat all enemies and accomplish all goals, without it you fall into darkness and despair.

After the Strike Eagles were formed and to about 50 % capacity, Chapter Master Granton found out that the his parent chapter the Imperial Vipers were destroyed as the Havoc Hounds surprised attacked the Astral Strike Patrols (ASPs), causing either the destruction or the forcing companies to be sucked into the Warp. This moment was called the Black Dawn, and for CM Granton and the few Imperial Vipers that came to form the Strike Eagles it was the time of end and new beginning. The report says that after the attack, the confidence of the Vipers was fading and thus resulting in poor tactics (resulting in unnecessary losses), marines going to chaos (lost confidence in self, replaced it in promise from daemons) or other happenings that were just not fully unearthed after the investigation.

HOMEWORLD

The Strike Eagles call Ikarion VII home, where it recruits and trains. The planet is mainly water with many islands that range from complete deserts to jungles. It is on these many islands where the population reside, fully devoted its beloved Strike Eagles Chapter. It is located in the border of the Segmentum Obscurus and Pacificus.

The planet is governed by a body of representatives overseen by the Chapter. The people know their role and do their part to work for the planet and Chapter. Whether they are farmers, builders or security officers they take pride in being almost included in the Chapter. This relationship is not all give and take as the Chapter protects the planet and ensures that the planet as a whole is taken care of. The residents have good lives as it is centered on supporting the Chapter, athletics and perfecting various combative arts and administering the One Faith throughout the planet.

Yearly the islands get together to hold a competition so that the winners earn a right to become a Strike Eagle Space Marine. This competition is the major celebration on the planet. There are seven events where a recruit is tested, after the events are over the Chapter will chose the competitors that will become Marines. That person’s parents, town and home island are honored for having provided another Strike Eagle.

Since the oceans of Ikarion VII cannot be traveled due to many whirlpools, storms and reefs the inhabitants have taken to the skies to travel between the islands. These vehicles range from personel craft carrying one person to ones that can carry hundreds. Because of the technology that has gone into making these aircraft there have been few accidents since the residents first took flight. The Strike Eagles have taken this method and made it their mode of combat.

COMBAT DOCTRINE

The Strike Eagles believe in that controlling the skies of the battle field and you can control the battle. As described above they employ manly assault squads, land speeders, Hammer-Wing assault ships and Thunderhawk gunships with scout squads or tactical squads infiltrating and setting up targets from which the other units will hit from above. The Chapter does have normal Tactical, Devastator, Veteran Squads, Dreadnoughts, and Razorbacks. The Strike Eagles Chapter rely on being mobile and thus will not have as many heavy and ordnance type of units say for the Devastator Squads and Dreadnoughts that can be dropped in. Elites and Veteran Squads will mainly use jump packs thought the Chapter does have Terminator armor which it will use as mission dictates.

The Strike Eagles insist on having the flexibility by being mobile, which gives the mission commander the ability to adapt and overcome without having to endure long readjustments. If the units can be in a constant “flow” then they can change attack points crash like a wave to the enemies’ weakest spot.

Some of the greatest battles of the Strike Eagles include defending their homeworld against the renegade chapter the Havoc Hounds, the total destruction of an Dark Eldar raider group that terrorized the south end of the Segmentum Pacificus near the planet of Talassar and many more. The Strike Eagles chapter have fought against all known xeno types, crushed rebellious cults and defended the Imperium at all cost.

CHAPTER ORGANIZATION

The Strike Eagles follow the basic outline of the codex with the exception of the large amount “aerial” units and squadrons. They maintain the First Wing (Company) as its veteran and elites. The 2nd through the 6th Wings are organized the same so that they can react at a moment’s notice and expedite the mission goals, with two of the Wings alternating patrols. The 7th Wing is stationed at Ikarion VII for home defense. The 8th and 9th are on reserve stationed at the planets Nebus Jerolus and Brailion for quick assistance. The 10th Wing is the training Wing which conducts the training of the Marines as well as the Ikarion VII annual competition trials from which the Strike Eagles pick new recruits.

CHAPTER BELIEFS

The Strike Eagles believe in total self confidence called the One Faith. After the moment of Black Dawn (the entire Chapter of Imperial Vipers were either destroyed or lost in the Warp), the Strike Eagles believe that the path to Chaos starts with not being strong enough to believe that one can accomplish their duties or tasks. If someone cannot depend on themselves, how can their battle brothers, Wing and Chapter trust them?

GENE-SEED

The Strike Eagles do not know the linage of their gene seed and for an older Chapter this is odd. They are currently researching this topic. Their father Chapter is the Imperial Vipers. The task of creating the new chapter went to Granton, Captain of the 4th Astral Strike Patrol (ASP) of the Imperial Vipers. He took his most trusted brothers from his company to help start the Strike Eagles. He saw what will happen when there is no self confidence, how it tears a marine apart as well as his Chapter. Due to his many battles against Traitorous Marines and cultists, he knew what had to be the basic founding of a marine.

The Strike Eagles have a slight mutation in that they have increased eyesight with the ability to slightly zoom in and that they all have orange hair and grey eyes.

Welcome in the Liber.

I'm not sure if you have seen them, but we have guides here. The Guide to DIYing and Octaguide.

Now onto the torturing... I mean C&C. -_-

Origins

Though a very old and experienced Chapter, the Strike Eagles do not know where their gene-seed comes from, just that their father Chapter was that of the Imperial Vipers (my very first chapter from ’96).

- Unknown gene-seed is Mark of Laziness, the fifth Chaos god. Space marines don't forget their origins nor who is their Primarch out of blue. When in doubt, ask the Admech.

- Hold on, man. Who are these? and Why is this important to your Chapter?

- Second, the Space Marines are bio-enginereed, psycho-conditioned and armed with the best equipment the Imperium can afford. They don't sit in the corner crying just because someone was mean to them.

Homeworld

- Noo! There is not enough grim and dark grimdark, with the additional portion of grimdark.

Combat Doctrine

The Strike Eagles Chapter rely on being mobile and thus will not have as many heavy and ordnance type of units say for the Devastator Squads and Dreadnoughts that can be dropped in.

- T-hawk Transporter is capable of carrying all the Mech-stuff the marines have. The Blood Angles are crazy enough to drop the Land Raiders in the middle of battle.

The Strike Eagles chapter have fought against all known xeno types, crushed rebellious cults and defended the Imperium at all cost.

- Pointless. Any chapter as old as yours is going to have the same experiences.

Organisation

The 8th and 9th are on reserve stationed at the planets Nebus Jerolus and Brailion for quick assistance.

Why? and Where?

CHAPTER BELIEFS

- This section needs some work on. Self-confidence is good, but how it was again... Path to the hell is pawed by good intentions.

+++

Overall, some good ideas bar the gene-seed and emo-marines.
