ANGELS OF FAITH

738. M40

The blood angels were sent on a mission to secure and retrieve a relic which has been located in the northern sector. However on this journey through space, they got caught in a warp storm. A warp storm which sent the blood angels on the other side of the galaxy. They appeared in a known region, but not from personal experience. It was in the far depths of the chaos sector.

The ship was badly damaged from an attack from creatures within the warp, blazing holes taken out of the ship and engines smoking like a daunting fire. The ship was no longer flyable, and suddenly began to start flying through the air towards the nearest planet.

Getting closer and closer, the ship broke through the atmosphere of the planet Elysium. The ship was so badly damaged, all communications were lost, and so the proud blood angels were not able to communicate with their fellow brothers. However the current situation was what was on their minds, the ship’s crew pulling lever after lever and hitting button after button, they were able to slow the ships crash down, but not enough to stop the almighty thump it made. However the ship’s crew, passengers, vehicles and equipment managed to survive the fall.

The air had a strong bad smell to it, with fumes of many different chemicals. Surround the deep jungle was countless swamps, with rotting carcases looking like they were being preserved. Within the jungles hanged the bones of old bodies, looking like they were savaged upon. The place looked a complete mess, and gave the marines a chaos feeling. The planet felt like evil and deception was at bay.

The buildings and homes were merely ruins, overgrown with plants, trees and many other types of bushes. Scattered around the ground were random skulls, of both human and animal, and gave the city a horrible stench. In the distance, a gigantic settlement could be seen. This looked like the main palace of the city, and did not consist of as many thorns and plants as the others. The marines started to approach the building, walking past the damp soil which was surrounding them. As they got closer, they realised something that startled them. It was the symbol of the chaos god Khorne.

As the marines continued to approach the settlement, they saw villagers scattering around the place, looking scared and seemed to be running from something. The marines spotted a group of men dressed in red robes with shotguns pointed at people. They were ordering the men to go to the settlement immediately as it’s their time to go. The marines puzzled by this started to approach the group.

The group did not like the sight of the space marines, and so shouted “the enemy is here, kill them”. The group locked their lasguns at aim and started releasing shot after shot at the marines. However their guns were no match for the imperial space marine’s power armour. The space marines aimed their boltguns, and bolstered down the group, all lasting a mere 5 seconds. The marines walked up to the remaining villagers and demanded they told them what was going on. A villager stepped out of the crowd and said “it’s him. It’s the god himself, demanding more sacrifices to power him”. The marines then found out that it was the chaos god Khorne for sure, and that the planet was used for sacrifices to power the chaos god of Khorne. The marines removed the hoods of their victims, and noticed they all bared the symbol of Khorne on their foreheads. They were the cultists of Khorne, and were here to collect skulls for their god of rage, violence and bloodshed.

The villagers believed the marines were from the legion Khorne because of their red armour, but the marines had notified the villagers that they are from the blood angel’s chapter.

They explained how they got here, and that they were going to help remove this chaos cult, and bring the people back to peace.

The marines carried on their way to the settlement, when they noticed a giant statue, with burning fire. Out of the fire, bloodletters were spawning, attacking a pit full of people, spilling blood and collecting the skulls of the enemy for their god. The marines did not like this, and said to themselves they had to purge this planet from the tainted chaos. As the marines looked closer, they realised it was in fact an altar of khorne. Aside the altar was a group of cultists who were praying constantly to the chaos god, each time they completed the prayer more bloodletters spawned out of the fire. It was then the marine realised that the cultists were what power the altar, and thus must be destroyed. It was time for the cleansing to begin.

The space marines started to set up battle formations, consisting of many squads, with a few rhinos and an almighty vindicator. The devastator marines set up in an old ruin, quite a distance from the settlement as of their extremely long ranged missile launchers. Whilst the tactical marines lock and loaded their boltguns, raising them to helmet height ready for any surprises. As they were approaching the settlement, they were being followed by their assault brothers, with their main leader reclusiarch Erebos. He was an experienced veteran on the field of battle, and gave the other brothers a high sense of morale.

Getting closer to the settlement, the devastator marines released 4 krak missiles straight at the giant statue of what looked like a bloodthirster. Each shot connecting with the head of the statue, and its legs causing it to fall to the ground like an atomic bomb. The villagers saw the marines approaching and ran away to hide, whilst the daemons of Khorne, also known as bloodletters and juggernaughts were still coming out of the fire, spawning and running towards the marines. The marines were releasing bolter shell after bolter shell, within the crossfire were shots of plasma coming from the tactical marine’s plasma gun, hoping to melt through each bloodletter. However the number of these daemons was at a high increase and so many broke through the crossfire, and reached the tactical marines. Once they got close to the marines, the assault marines and Erebos leaped over the tactical squads with their almighty jump packs, causing them to go flying into the bloodletters, taking off heads within the blow. Then the assault marines were locked in close combat with the bloodletters, whilst the tactical squad were shooting the remaining juggernaughts.

In the distance, the marines saw a man coming to grips with a group of bloodletters, which seemed to be protecting the cultists. This man however seemed to have some sort of blade in his hand, which he used to decapitate many of the cultists after tearing the bloodletters apart. Once the man had finished slaying the group, and before any more bloodletters could spawn, he pulled some sort of grenade device from his pocket and placed it against the altar. From the marines view they could not tell what it was, that was until they heard screams shouting meltabomb.

The marines noticing this realised that once this group of Khorne daemons were destroyed, then that would be it.

As the fight went on, many daemons were killed, and only few space marines which resulted in a victor for the marines. However once they started to re-group on the battlefield, they heard noises. Noises which sounded like screaming, swords clashing and rounds coming out of a shotgun of some sort.

The space marines and villagers followed the noise into the forest, and noticed the same young man from earlier was their. However he was not alone this time, he was fighting with a group of bloodletters. Hacking his way through the group, he managed to stomp each one with ease. The shotgun he bared was enough to turn them into dust. You could see the chaotic looking blood dripping of his sword, which looked sharper than any they have seen before.

However after that, out of the forest a man stepped out. Looking mutated, he fell to the ground. The man just stared at the body with keen eagle like eyes, when suddenly out of the body spawned the almighty bloodthirster. This creature was beyond what many villagers have ever seen before.

This creature was not eager to sit around, and immediately flew towards the man. He was hungry and wanted to spill blood. Flying fast, the daemon managed to disarm the man by knocking him down to the ground. Taking flight, the daemon then came to fly against the man again, however the man was ready this time. For he had rolled to his sword as the creature approached, and swung his sword, taking off one of the razor sharp wings of the beast.

It was then when the beast and the man had to fight, both on foot. The daemon swinging his almighty sword back and forth towards the man, but this man’s sword was parrying his with mighty strength.

After much hacking and slashing, the man managed to split the daemon in half with his sword, but at the expense of getting an almighty cut down through his left eye. The fight with the daemon sent the marines back into the past. This image gave them the image of back when sanguineous was fighting with a bloodthirster of Khorne. He gave all the marines the hope and faith they once had, and yet only appeared to be a young man from an old village.

After this, the man realised there was a cultist in the bushes near another altar in the trees. The man ran towards the cultist, popping 2 shotgun rounds into his back, sending him to hell. The man then followed up with another meltabomb from his pocket, shattering the altar into many pieces.

Once this situation had finished, the marines approached the man, asking him many questions about the planet, city and how chaos got here. He simply told them we were ambushed by numerous numbers of those daemons, and so made a deal with the god Khorne that if we offer skulls and blood for the blood god, they would give us peace in return. Clearly Khorne did not stick to this deal, and so the villagers started to rebel against him, causing cultists to be placed upon the city to control its construction. However when asked, the boy did not tell the marines much about himself, just that he was alone and has been fighting the wilderness for many years. The villagers did not recognise the boy, and so seemed to have no family.

No one knows how he got their, or what he was doing their as he clearly looked like a skilled man of combat.

In addition, whilst the marines questioned the boy who calls himself Zeus, Erebos was very intrigued by the man. He showed great potential for a space marine, and giving the fact that he reminded them of sanguineous himself, was a very inspiring moment for sure. Erebos went off with the boy to talk to him, whilst the other marines went back to the city.

Erebos offered the man a chance to become an imperial space marine of the blood angel’s chapter, and to revenge those who went against their god sanguineous. Erebos shocked with the proposal was not too delighted with the opportunity, but Erebos did not know why. He asked Zeus what was a matter, but Zeus said nothing and agreed with the opportunity. Zeus advanced through the ranks very quickly, and soon became a veteran assault marine.

It was after this that Erebos and his men had realised that their was no way of communicating with their chapter from this forsaken planet, and thus with the sighting of sanguineous they all got the hope and faith the chapter had back then. With much thinking done, Erebos and his company of men decided to stay upon the planet of Elysium, to help rebuild the city of Troy, removed the chaos threat forever and to bring peace back to the planet. It was then they all re-painted their armour black, with red to show their dedication to their new home world. However there was 1 thing missing, and that was a master of the chapter, someone who is a great warrior, and has the leadership to control the planet. This role went over to Zeus, as he was the most promising candidate (Erebos being too old, and a chaplain made him head of one of the head council members). It was then Zeus got his wings and gold armour, along with the others getting wings and become the chapter Angels of Faith. The angels who were going to bring back peace and remove all those who go against them from the galaxy. It was then the planet Elysium became home to the new chapter, and was no longer under chaos control.

The chapter hold many events like tournaments to help increase the number of space marines, and thus managed to increase the population by many within the years of being their.

From the day they met him, he has never been parted from his sword. In addition no one knows even to this day where his sword came from, or the meltabombs he used to destroy the altars, or even his family.

lots, but unfortunately i've only got my phone pm cannot give you a full critique with reasoning and suggestions. I'd suggest you might want to track down someone called octavulg, and/or ask a mod to move/link this to to liber for more comments and read thrus... Its not as bad as some i've seen, but it does look like you've not spent much time or thought on it. Too much awesome sauce, too many factual errors, too many inconsistencies with established background material at the moment. But there is the germ of an IA in there...
