My Ultra Scouts

[these Scouts were originally going to be Dark Angels, hence the green, but change my mind]

 

ok so I have Regal Blue and Ice Blue at my disposal

and Chaos black and Skull white

and I think my scouts are a little 'bright' - I didn't have any ultramarines in reference when I mixed my colour so

 

here they are and can you suggest how to darken the colour or is it ok?

The faces are extremely poor but the model could do nicely with a wash on the pants.

 

Clean up the chest eagle too. Id cover the faces in Talarn Flesh and give them a Ogryn Flesh wash.

they are very WIP my friend :lol:

i started with a graveyard earth - watered down, heavily, on both the trousers and the faces

that is all I have done to the faces ... thats why they are poor :P

 

I will give a thicker coat of graveyard earth to the faces and then highlight with dwarfen flesh

then maybe wash with?

 

I painted some of the chest eagles months ago ... about 1 month into starting and I tried to dab it off with a tissue and BOOM wrecked the chest :/

pleased mostly, the faces I never done before so they awful but hey practice and all that

really pleased with how my painting skills are improving

the one with the messed up chest is the one that I experimented on

It's a big improvement, personally i've never been so good at the faces either.

But with years of practice comes better and better skills so keep it up :rolleyes:

For the faces, just put on a wash of ogryn flesh and they'll look 1000% better.

 

Some of the black undercoat is showing on the chest eagles and neck areas, you could clean that up.

 

The red is done well, but the leather stuff would benefit from a brown wash. I forgot the name of the brown one.

 

But overall, they don't look bad at all. Washes make everything look better.
