IA: Emperor's Wraiths

Will take a look.

To be honest with you, the important thing for me was to establish a chapter with everyone who would read this. I wasn't even going to paint an army, I just thought it would be fun to have a combined effort of as many Bolter and Chainsword readers as possible and see what we could come up with.

Then put everyones name to it (a petition as such) and submit it to games workshop. I didn't want the credit, I just wanted to see what would happen. I just like the colours.

I may start a new thread with the colours and explain myself a bit clearer ;-)

Wanted people to help create some fluff on a chapter I have liked the name of which is on page 30 of the Space Marine Codex.

I'm new to Warhammer 40k and have attempted a background once but completely ballsed it up.

I like the following colour scheme and would like to base my chapter on the Celestial Guard Chapter of the planet Erenon.

Can you help me develop some fluff for them as my original idea went by the wayside?

Thanks

Think up a rough outline of what you want it to be like. Not much just a couple sentences per section. I can then help you grow your few sentences into an IA the length and detail of the Nesewdjet-Nesewdjy(something like that). No, actually I can't. But I can help you make that into an IA.

EDIT: I like the new avatar. <_<

Well the reason I asked for input is that it is an already established chapter in the codex but there seem to be no details anywhere about it and I like the name.

Just want some suggestions really of where I can start with the fluff.

I want them to be shiney new, so 25th or 26th founding.

I'd like them to have a chapter wide appearance of tanned skin with long straight white hair

I plan on fielding a lot of Devastators, and with big guns being common in the chapter.

Perhaps a siege type army, used mainly for city and fortification assaults?

Anything else you need?

Oh, whats an IA?

IA= Index Astartes. It's what the things people make in the Liber are called. HAve you read the Guide to DIYing and Octavulg's Octaguide 2.0 that will make even beautiful women turn their heads? You should read those before you continue. It can help you figure out what to do and organize your thoughts into a format.

I read the first part of DIY'ing and changed the chapter name, lol

I don't wanna do all this and have GW come along and fluff it out :-)

The Celestial Wraiths sounds cool

Think the badge will be the profile of a Wraith's face with flowing hair, all in black on the bleached bone pad, what do you think?

The Wraith from Stargate Atlantis suck life force, maybe I could centre them around a psychic theme?

The Emperor prophesised a day when mankind would progressively develop psychically, or is this too soon? I know Blood Ravens have lots of Psychers

We don't know the geneseed of the blood ravens and I don't think they would have any successors because of this. What traits do you feel they would have? Lots of psychers is a good start. From these we can figure out what geneseed best suits them, though they can have almost any geneseed no matter what traits they have.

Can I ask, the 26th founding, would this be after the Badab War?

I like the basis of my chapter being Psychers, what Geneseed would you recommend?

As for the 26th founding, would they be a successor chapter from the 25th founding naturally?

Thanks

Ben

Well, you know, the Liber is a Quality Control, not the Asembly Line.

The Winter 2010 Community DIY Challenge is a little different, and there was some friction between the participants.

Ok, this is what I have so far, good start, or bad start?

Background

By the will of the High Lords of Terra and with the divine blessing of the God Emperor, it is noted that the Celestial Wraiths were created in 738.M41 as part of the 26th founding of Adeptus Astartes.

In the infinite wisdom of the High lords, it was decreed that the Celestial Lion’s seamlessly flawless geneseed be used in the creation of these new marines to insure its survival for millennia to come. In hindsight, a truly marvellous idea considering the almost (and somewhat postponed) annihilation of the Celestial Lions Chapter.

The Celestial Wraiths set out amongst the stars with relatively small numbers and before long found themselves assisting in one of the major epochs of humanity’s winter years, The Badab War.

But their history does not start there...
