Prot
So with that subject I'm sure there are some Ultra fan boys, or Blood Angel vamps kicking the door down, demanding an explanation. Well, here it is: Santa IS a Space Wolf. Why? - What other chapter is known to have a chapter master with a big white beard, is considered very personable, BUT you don't want to cross him?!?! IF this doesn't say "naughty list", I don't know what does!!! - Santa is (in)famous for gorging on food and drink. In fact every house he visits is encouraged to give a sampling of some fine treat or drink. Does this remind you of a chapter OTHER than space wolves? Hmm? - I submit: A candy cane COULD be a frost blade. - North Pole = Fenris - What other holiday icon could be more suited yelling, "For the All Father!" ???? - Without hesitation, I declare the massive black belt, with oversized buckle is indeed wargear: The Belt of Russ. Santa is protected with a 4+ invulnerable. Finally, and possibly most convincingly: - His talent to use the local species of uber animals to propel him into battle, er delivery mode is unparalleled by any other treat spreading demi-god! (IE: Reindeer ARE Thunder Deer Calvary!) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217264-i-think-santa-is-a-space-wolf/ Share on other sites

Olgerth Istaarn
American Santa is not anywhere nearly badass enough to be a Space Wolf. Now, our Russian Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost, pronounced kinda like Dead Morose if you are an English speaker), is a whole different matter. In fact, not only Ded Moroz is a Space Wolf, he's a fullblown Rune Priest. - First of all, he has a full-length fur coat (passes for a robe), even with something that passes for runes. That waist-long jacket just doesn't cut it. - And he has a staff, which produces all sort of freezing magic. Lord of Tempests? Hell yeah. - And, unlike Saint Nick, Ded Moroz is not a once-a-year gift-giving machine: he is, in some ways, the personification of the harsh, long Russian winter. When he doesn't visit you for the New Year (In Sovied Russia, New Year > Christmas), he is in charge of keeping things nice and frozen. - And if you've been naughty, he doesn't give you a lump of coal. No, he just freezes you solid. Yes, that's what they tell kids (at least what they USED to tell kids when I was a kid). Maybe that's why I have a drinking problem. - Finally, he has his own valkyrie, Snegurochka (Snowgirl). Whose arse he is creepily checking out in the picture, no doubt. Extra creepy, because in the most common interpretation, Snegurochka is his granddaughter, whom he created by animating a snowwoman. Or something. And when he's not handing out presents, or freezing naughty kids... well... who needs thunderwolves when you have thunderbears: I unintentionally removed your first image, the second while a very nice illustration had language not suited for these boards... you can repost both pictures as long as the inappropriate language is removed. Ranwulf
I don't know, somehow I think White Scars can be Santa too... mostly because, altough they are like mongols, they can be also eskimos. Doens't help that they have long white beards. And to tell you the truth, I would not cross ANY Space Marine Chapter Master. Not only that, but White Scars are, just like Santa, expert riders! About the planet, well, both Fenris and Chogoris are diverse in climate, to the point that Fenris is completely insane... And, the White Scars have the same colors of Santa(Red and White). In a kidding way, just like the White Scars, Santa is a specialized in hit and run tactics, after all, how in the hell would he be able to deliver all the presents? I think, in my opinion, that both chapters can offer a nice Santa. I believe the "American Santa" he speaks of is the super commercialized emblematic holiday icon that companies like Coca-Cola, Hallmark, Wal-Mart, etc. have bastardized into the modern view of "Santa Claus" in pop culture. (heck, the common accepted image of Santa comes from paintings commissioned for the Coca-cola company by Haddon Sunblom in the 30's, prior to that he was depicted in range of different ways from to tall to short and fat to gaunt ) A Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217264-i-think-santa-is-a-space-wolf/#findComment-2591163 Share on other sites
