Brother-Captain Lucius
Right so i am in the process of re-doing my DoA list and in not sure what would be better. Honour guard w/ jump packs, 3 meltaguns, Honour guard w/ jump packs, 3 plasma guns, sanguinary priest w/ jump pack, claw OR sanguinary Priests x 2, jump packs, claws, honour guard w/ jump packs, 3 plasma guns Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217512-doa-priest-bubbles/ Share on other sites
JamesI
hard to say without seeing the rest of the list. If I were doing a pure DOA list, I'd want probably 1 or 2 priests and an HG with meltaguns depending on points. Brother-Captain Lucius
The rest of the list would be 2 librarians w/ jump packs, 3 full RAS squads w/ jump packs, hammer, 2 meltas, hand flamer. The last unit is a 5 man vanguard w/ jump packs, hammer, 2 claws, 3 SS. Midnightmare
+ve's and -ve's on both, Honour Guard priests can't be targeted like normal priests but don't have as good stats and can't be upgraded, and obviously they can't leave the Honour Guard!! And the shooty plasma HG would have to roll close by to the RAS for them to feel its benefits which could mean they end up in close combat when they are really there for fire support, unless you maybe you could make them more 'choppy' :) Also bare in mind if you deep strike them than the HG may come in at different times to the RAS, so maybe 2 priests with a RAS each, and a libby with the remaining RAS, and the other libby with the one HG. Hope that helps. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217512-doa-priest-bubbles/#findComment-2595183 Share on other sites
Brother-Captain Lucius
Yeah was usually running Priest + Libby in RAS which worked out okay. But wanted to see if anything else works. BLACK BLΠFLY
I see shooty HG as a waste of points. They have much more potential as a choppy unit. G  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217512-doa-priest-bubbles/#findComment-2595643 Share on other sites
Brother-Captain Lucius
Plasma HG have yet to let me down. Hence why i keep using them. I have my vanguard to be choppy. Drachnon
Well I think overall the honour guard's noviate is better. I don't like how priests pay half their own cost for a jump pack. I might try running a plasma honour guard as well at some point, sounds like fun.
