chaplainmikey
Hi, These last few days i've been working on my AoBR dreadnought and this time i've decided to go with a darker blue than the one i previously used on my Tac. squad and Terminators. Its still WIP,quite alot still needs doing such as the final highlights on the blue and all the red and black areas still need doing too. Anyway, pics: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0511.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0506.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0507.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0508.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0509.jpg Also thinking of adding some more chapters symbols and other markings if i can pluck up the courage to tackle more free-handing. Thanks for looking, Mike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217537-wip-ultramarines-and-space-wolves/ Share on other sites

Lexington
Wow, that's fantastic, man. The blues you're getting are bold and eye-catching, and your highlighting manages to be extremely effective while not calling attention to itself. Much love, yo. UltraRich
The dread looks great. I like the clean looking metal. One thing Id recommend is picking all of the rivets out in silver (mythral) as it will give some of the big blue areas some interest. It worked well on my abor conversion. Rogan
Now I got to apologize. Or do I? I'm fairly sure I said you were able to do a decent paintjob, and it seems like I was right. Especially like your tactical Sarge! Dread's not bad, either, but to my mind it lacks some depth. On the other hand, this may be due to the model itself. AoBR models... suck, don't they? Well done, battle brother! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217537-wip-ultramarines-and-space-wolves/#findComment-2594729 Share on other sites

I'm fairly sure I said you were able to do a decent paintjob, and it seems like I was right. Especially like your tactical Sarge! Ah,don't be stupid,no apologies needed.Glad you like the Tactical Sarge, probably one of the few Black reach models i like(the others being the flamer, missile marines and the dread....sort of.) :) Dread's not bad, either, but to my mind it lacks some depth. I agree, before undercoating i was considering modelling some damage with a drill but decided against it.Tried sprucing the model up with the slight conversions but i think it still looks too 'plain' and static. One thing Id recommend is picking all of the rivets out in silver (mythral) as it will give some of the big blue areas some interest. It worked well on my abor conversion. I'll certainly do this and hopefully it will hep. ;) Going to try to finish the dread tomorrow because i'd love to have all the reach models done bfore Xmas, need all my attention for that nice shiny Space Marine Battleforce thats all wrapped-up for me! :) Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Cheers, Mike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217537-wip-ultramarines-and-space-wolves/#findComment-2594750 Share on other sites
chaplainmikey
Hi, So Xmas has come and gone and we are now in the New year which means its time i updated this blog. Since my last post I've finished the Dread and 5 Scouts.I've also assmebled various other plastic models and converted a chaplain to serve as my HQ. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0520-1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0519.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0518-1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0517-1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0522-1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0521-1.jpg I originally used transfers oon the scouts for thier chapter symbol but they looked horrible so i've removed them. The rims of thier bases still need a lick of paint, but besides them two things they are done. Next up I'll be painting the Chaplain, which will give me the last requirements for a legal army. Cheers, Mike. chaplainmikey
Hi, Been busy painting up my Ultamarines Chaplain and he's coming along nicely, though there is still abit of work left before he'll be battle ready. I've also decided i'd like to have another shot at building a Space Wolves army so i've converted a few of my marines from the battlion set with a few spare space wolves parts, which will give me a good start along with the 5 Wolf guard terminators i kept from my last attempt at the Wolves. With that in mind i started painting one of the mentioned Wolf Guard models and took a pic of his WIP state with the only painted Wolfguard(which i painted around this time last year). Anyway, onto the pics: WIP Chaplain: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0529.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0528.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0530.jpg WIP Wolf Guard: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0527.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0526.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0524.jpg Cheers, Mike.
