recon0321
SPACE MARINE CHAPTER Knights Hospitaller All marines have black tabards with silver templar crosses and brown pieces of devotional cloth hanging off their armor that are blessed in by their patron Saint, to remind them that they are always sevrants to the God Emperor. However veterans have red tabards that are dyed red to represent the martyred blood of St. Tyr. BACKGROUND Tyr was a lowely Blacksmith that lived on a feudal world, with very little contact with the outside Imperium except for the Ecclesiarchy and the few priests that try to convert the native populace. there are varying reports of they Tyr’s life but it is widely believed that he slayed a forest beast that was corrupted by chaos with a sword and spear he has made in his forge. When he struck the beast with his sword it broke down the hilt but left an opening for the spear and which used to puncture the the beasts heart the spear snapped and the with the tip lodged in the beast and tyr burst into light and was never seen again the Ecclesiarchy got wind of this and claim him as a Saint of the Emperor and swiftly the native people were converted and the planet was transformed and brought into the imperial fold. PRESENT M36 The planet which was now know as Mendenhal 4 had become fortified and High lords of Terra would found a Space marine Chapter their they would be forever know as the Knights Hospitallier. All marines have black tabards with a silver templar cross on one shoulder and a winged sword on the other to recognized St tyr’s efforts, and brown pieces of devotional cloth hanging off their armor that are blessed in by their patron Saint, to remind them that they are always sevrants to the God Emperor. However veterans have red tabards that are dyed red to represent the martyred blood of St. Tyr. They cleared the forest and build a chapter keep on the very spot where St Tyr living forge use to sit and they now crusade to bring the light of the emperor to the darkest reaches of the Imperium. havent added yet gene seed came from rogal dorn http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads..._3686_45530.jpg my buddy angryjohnny helped with the image thanks alot!! Dark Apostle Thirst
Well, background should really go with Homeworld, it seems. Tyr doesn't seem to have been martyred though. More like... MIA. Was the beast found dead? I did get an idea for this chapter... It came from the fact you have both brown and red cloth. Perhaps the brown is for those who have not yet received the Black Carapace (the last peice of Geneseed needed to become a Space Marine), while the red is for those who have received it, and proven that their blood is worth serving the Saint? OH, and if they came from Rogal Dorn, they have Imperial Fist geneseed, without exception I'm afraid. Marshal Rohr
Hospitallar isnt a military rank, just so you know.... They ran hospitals and helped the sick. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
They're an order of sisters. I sense female marines... Why did the Ecclesiarchy accept that he disappeared in a ball of light? For all they know, the natives could have wanted to be favored. Things like this are probably said all the time. As an above poster said, that should go in homeworld or beliefs depending on how you want to put it. They sound like an excellent idea. I like them and will be following this. I might even paint up a squad like them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217642-knights-hospitallier/#findComment-2595937 Share on other sites
Pulse
They ran hospitals and helped the sick. And were a military order, and so probably killed and maimed more than they helped. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217642-knights-hospitallier/#findComment-2595976 Share on other sites
Shinzaren
What purpose does St. Tyr serve for this Chapter? Marines fight for the Emperor, and only the Emperor. Why would they worship or even care about some saint from this world? Even if the High Lords founded a chapter from this world specifically, which seems unlikely to me, why would some local saint matter? What does he add to the story? Why is he important? Why give us the story of a mortal guy who killed one Chaos Beast? Why is that a huge deal in a galaxy constantly at war with whole armies of Chaos filth? Sorry if that sounds overly harsh. I tend to post in question form, so you have things to think about and come up with answers for. Not trying to make your ideas all seem like rubbish.
