andrewm9
Black LIbrary posted up some art for the Sisters of Battle audio book, Red and Black. Its due out in October of 2011. Here is some artwork to whet our appetites. http://www.blacklibrary.com/Images/BL/blog/2010/12/Red%20&%20Black.jpg You can check it out at the website for what little more info is posted. It also looks like the paperback book, Hammer and Anvil is pushed to December 2011. And a big D'OH for the pushback on the novel :) Then again, he'll have more time to make it a good book. andrewm9
Nice pic, too bad it's more leather-y than power armour.I wonder what the voices will be like. And a big D'OH for the pushback on the novel :) Then again, he'll have more time to make it a good book. (hopefully) Well the power is black and shiny but weathered. The ever present corset (black) connects the red sleeves and tabard which is over the ceramite armor. Its not an unknown style since Dark Angels have their white robe over their power armor. She's obviously from the Order of Our Martyred Lady. The pushback is just from what I remember of it being September. I could be wrong. I think it more to make it around the same time as our codex, but thats just me reading into things that probably aren't there. I just read that Faith and Fire will be re-issued in December 2011 also. Inquisitor Fox
Being as Faith & Fire also featured the Order of Our Martyred Lady, I wonder if we'll actually see a return of the same protagonists in Hammer & Anvil or the audio book? A curious thought that could be quite neat. I know this next comment might sound silly, but I hope they get a female voice actor to voice the lines of the audio book. I think having an entire story focusing on the Sororitas would work better if I don't have to pretend a male voiceover is actually female lines... *Furyou Miko
*Blink* You know, I never even considered they might not have a female reader? But then, I haven't listened to any of the other GW audio books, so.. heh. I'd much rather hold the script in my hands. >> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217718-sisters-audio-book/#findComment-2596672 Share on other sites

Warsmith Aznable
I'm glad this was bumped, I somehow missed it earlier. I don't much care for audiobooks, but I reckon this is one I'll probably get. To agree with another poster in this thread, I would much rather have a book to hold. Eddie Orlock
Nice pic, too bad it's more leather-y than power armour.I've been thinking, maybe it's possible to rationalise the constant 'leatherness' by suggesting that it's just a veneer, a coating, over the powered hard surface. There to give some kind of wear or environmental resistance or maybe just the proper look. Azezel
Isn't the girl from Daemonifuge from this order as well? I don't remember... Our Martyred Lady is the Ultramarines of the Sororitas. GW's iconic Order so pretty much anything featuring Battle Sisters will feature OML. Shame really - Our Martyred Lady is the Ecclesiarchy's shock-troopers, the ultra-violent purge & burn 'kill them all and let the Emperor sort them out' Order. Because they are the only Order that ever gets any screen time, people assume that all Sisters are like that. Imagine what people would think about Marines if they'd only heard of Space Wolves - same deal. The Valerous Heart are renowned for their compassion and for defending the weak (so long as they are weak AND faithful, obviously) - the Sacred Rose* are cunning, intelligent master tacticians. Imagine what people would think of the Sororitas if Orders like those got equal screen-time with Our Martyred Lady. *The Sacred Rose was were in Dawn of War, but they didn't noticably act like Sacred Rose sisters. Azezel
i quite like the order of our martyred lady...:) I don't dislike OML (but then, I'm on record as saying that the Ultramarines are the only cool chapter), I just wish the other Orders got more screentime. If they did the Sisterhood would have a better reputation amongst non-SoB players. *Furyou Miko
Worse: Eldar Mesh Armour is Psychoactive - it uses the innate psychic field of the wearer to know where to harden up and focus the defences. Imperial Mesh, rare as it is, is much more user friendly and doesn't require that kind of prescience. As I recall, the Index Sororitas article in White Dwarf said the orders don't vary much in the way of doctrine.
