Firefighter X
This idea/inspiration for this orginally came from horrain. His tut can be found http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=208477. I took his suggestions and expanded on it quite a bit, changed some things, and made it my own.. here goes. The Tools: http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0121.jpg Dremel Rotary tool with cutting blade, grinder, sander wheel. Super Glue & Zip Kicker [ adhesive accelerant.. like INSTANT ! ] double sided file [ flat/rounded] GW clippers/cutters pinvise [ for drilling out barrels and setting pins ] pin rod heavy gauge cutters [ to cut pin rod ] X-Acto knife with new, rediculously sharp blade. All parts..mold lines pre-cleaned, clipped and set for assembly. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0123.jpg Bestigor Champion body [ but any bestigor body will do ] Bestigor arms & axe haft Berzerker Torso, shoulder pads, backpack, pair of arms, & bolt pistol gubbinz. Ork Nob Choppa arm Ravenwing Banner flag Wooden Toothpick Using Dremel [ or regular saw if you don't have a Dremel ] saw the bestigor body in half, about 1-2 MM above the belt line. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0125.jpg It should end up looking like this. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0126.jpg Using your clippers/file/knife trim down the rest of the waistline.. Be carefull here..get it as close to the top of the Bestigor's belt as you can. Also using clippers and file, remove any fantasy items from the model that you don't want there [ like pouches and maces/clubs that are molded onto the mini ]. Pay special attention to the Bestigor's leg and armor details.. You want to preserve them and tidy up the areas with filing. Like so http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0131.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0135.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0134.jpg Glue the Berzerker torso together and using your knife, remove the entire "belt" from the model.. Leave the round Khorne icon at the front of the model. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0141.jpg At this point use your clippers and remove the ponytail from the Bestigor Head. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0161.jpg Use Dremel Grinding bit to dig out the rest of the Bestigor waistline and dig a groove in the front of the belt buckle [ to make room for the Khorne icon you saved on the Berzerker torso earlier ] then follow that up with the dremel sander bit. The goal here is to get the waistline smooth and flat.. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0142.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0143.jpg You should be left with two halves that look similar to this after you clean up the mini. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0145.jpg Decide which arms you want to use [ I like options ] http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0148.jpg IF YOU DECIDE TO USE REGULAR ARMS: Ignore the next photo steps. If using Bestigor arms, dryfit them to make sure you've got the look you want http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0140.jpg Drill out the holes in the Bestigor hands, and clip away the wooden axe handle. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0149.jpg Position them on a toothpick, pin, large paperclip, plastic rod.. whatever you use for the shaft. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0151.jpg Use clippers or Dremel sanding bit to cut away Bestigor shoulder pads to make room for gluing the Berzerker pads on the arms. Attach to the body, glue Berzerker pads on top to taste.. ta dah you're almost done. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0152.jpg Follow the mold line on the inside of the Bestigor arm for the proper trimming. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0154.jpg RESUME FOLLOWING TUT HERE IF YOU USED NORMAL BERZERKER ARMS Clip the Chainaxe head and butt end awayfrom the hand, preserving the finger details, file, trim, smooth and drill out a hole for the toothpick to slide through the whole hand. Attach the fiddly end cap gubbin to the end of the toothpick & Zip Kick it so it sets immediately. You don't want to be mucking around waiting for your glue to dry. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0155.jpg Position axe arm & the bolt pistol arm where you want them. Glue on the axe head. Drill the pistol barrel holes out for Khorne's sake. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0156.jpg Add suitably Khornate Gubbinz. IF you have an uneven joint between the Berzerker torso and the Bestigor legs, the gubbinz will help mask that, as will a small strip of GS to make a belt. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0157.jpg Glue the horns to the Bestigor head, attach the backpack, glue the head down, and go collect skulls with your new Berzerker/Skull Champ/Aspiring Champ. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Beastzerker%20Tutorial/100_0163.jpg Thanks, FFX ~fin Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217721-ffx-style-beastzerkers/ Share on other sites

Antaro Torias
I saw the topic from horrain when it came up and I think that even though the result is very good, the concept kind of put me off a bit. This however is not only a great concept but also a fantastic result :tu: . I think this would make an awesome Khornate Chaos Lord, consider this idea stolen :) . Firefighter X
So it's been awhile.. Here's the conversion I used for the Tut all painted up and based. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Berzerkers/100_0582.jpg And here are his homies. [ Just to show you the variety you can get with these guys. I hope you enjoy them. ] http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Berzerkers/100_0595.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Berzerkers/100_0599.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Chosen/100_0046.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/Firefighter_X/Chosen/100_0117.jpg FFX Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217721-ffx-style-beastzerkers/#findComment-2789094 Share on other sites
Coopervisor
Good work. I much prefer beastmarines when the correct shape legs are used, rather than just a beastman head on a PA body. Very feral looking force, any plans for a minotaur/DP? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217721-ffx-style-beastzerkers/#findComment-2789792 Share on other sites

Very feral looking force, any plans for a minotaur/DP? B) I haven't really given it any thought. These "Beastzerker" conversions were used to represent my aspiring champions in my Berzerker squads, and perhaps a full 8 man Chosen squad some day. I wanted something that stuck to old skool fluff. The idea being Khorne has rewarded them with gifts [ mutations ] for pleasing him with their service. An added bonus is that the whole army has a very cohesive look when you look at the bunny helms, the horns on the Bloodletters, these guys, my Khârn conversion, and the Daemon Prince. Lastly, there is no greater compliment for me than for a passerby or my opponent to ask to pick up a mini and look at it. These guys get A LOT of attention on the table top.
