Plasma Cannons and a Signum

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, template weapons do not roll to hit, so my question is this: What effect does a sgt's signum have on a Devistator with a Plasma cannon? I haven't run into this in a game yet, but it's only a matter of time, and would like to be properly informed. Thanks!

template weapons dont roll to hit, but they do scatter.. you roll the scatter dice and reduce your BS from the distance.. the signum gives you +1Bs which works to reduce scatter by a further inch

Yep- it really is that simple. Since you subtract BS on a rolled arrow from the scatter +1 GS from the signum equals -1 " of deviation.

dont forget though that as its a plasma weapon roll one d6 separatly and before you roll the scatter dice, if this is a one, then make an armour save, and you dont get to shoot with it that turn. (unless your a vehicle)

Pendantic alert!

 

Templates use the Teardrop Marker (As per the Flamer) which does not scatter.

Blast/Ord weapons use the Blast Marker which does scatter.

 

Other wise the above is correct.
