Grimm Blade
I am in the process of starting a Night Lord army that is purely a jump pack force. I need help and advice on how to create the Raptors signature clawed feet and the current style of jump pack as seen in GW's metal boxed set... Below is my attempt at the claws, This is just a trial run and not representative of the final quality I am aiming for. Please feel free to comment on them. If you have any other ideas or experience with claws I would love to hear about it. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/GKTerminators/WIPs/GKGM004.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/GKTerminators/WIPs/GKGM002.jpg I also need some pointers on where to start with the jump packs! I was thinking about using plasticard and GS on loyalist jump packs....any thoughts/experience with this... Please help! The more advice I get the less likely I am to screw up the new models I buy for the force! Brother Nihm
Keep the claws I'd say, they also appear to be a lot easier to make than how I went about mine. (e.g. using 2nd. ed. oop bits) As for the backpacks, have you considered casting? CarbonCopy
I'll 3rd the claws. Those are very good. Over-all, not bad for a concept. Chapterhouse Studios makes some nice old-school style jump packs (I just got a set in the mail the other day). And there is a tutorial in the articles section here on making old-school style jump packs. Another option is to bits order the newer BA jump packs, with or without the wings. Or mix & match the above. Chapterhouse also has some heads (that I also ordered) that would work for a hybrid marine/raptor style helmet. Look for the ones with gas mask filters and/or spikes. Nice stuff, I'm pleased. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217769-raptor-claws-jump-packs-help/#findComment-2599969 Share on other sites
Br0ther Rafen
I fourth the clawed feet, i think they looked pretty good actually. As for JP's, i think that for simplicities sake that it would be easier to take normal JP and some Choas symbols, GS and etc and do that. I find that for a whole force of guys, simple is better. LardO'Blood
I think the raptor claws look pretty good. Maybe add a toe joint, but other than that, bravo! Grimm Blade
Hey Grimm Blade The Claws are a yes in my books and Have you thought about Sang Guard Backpacks and just make replacement wings that look like bat wings? Great minds think alike :) I was actually thinking that Tyranid Gargoyle wings instead of the feathered Sanguinary Guard wings were the direction I am going to go in...... Dark Bjoern
If you don´t mind, Brother, you could use the same that i used for my Raptors. The daemon wings from Maxmini. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/DarkBjoerns%20Chaos/Night%20Lords/NightLords1stHuntersWings01.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217769-raptor-claws-jump-packs-help/#findComment-2611998 Share on other sites
