Apocalypse Game! Need help!

I've got a huge game coming up on New Years eve against Tyranids and Thousand Sons about 9000K points worth. We agreed to let him use the 4th ed Nids codex. (his preference...) But the kicker is that I will be playing with 4 other people on my side, splitting the points with different armies. I'll be playing my Wolves, and the other 4: New Dark Eldar, Sisters, Orks, and Iron Knights(Space Marines). We will be playing apocalypse rules and I know he is planing to bring a silver tower and plenty of heavy support tanks and knowing him lots of Carnifex. So I have 1800 points to spend any ideas???

grey hunters and drop pods.

Be the suicide guy, see if they will let you have 12 man pods like marines, since your letting him use 4th ed nids.

Then drop in 6 units of GH, with WG, melta's/plasma, and priests (either falvour) and rumble him.

Give you plenty of time to go get drunk afterwards :HQ:

watch out for broodlords giving prefered enemy, and lictors, and im not sure maby tyrants. and rembr the units that were worse such as zoans, and biovores. and that that dex didnt have trygons and other such things... even as a nidplayer id say he wants to play old dex, let him play copleately old dex. no mixing!
That may be the reason why he wants to use it. I do want to try the combo of Ragnar and Njal with another rune priest with JoWW. But it all seems a bit pricey to me for only having 1800 pts. Narf, I do like the idea of all the drop pods. I've never really used drop pods much but now may be a good test for me. I thought about using Sternhammer's Wulfen Gaurd. They seem like a good choice for this senario. I have enough Wulfen to field 5 squads of ten and a decent priest but still not sure. I dont have much in the way of heavy support except a Vindicator and plenty of Long Fangs with lascannons and missle lanchers. No land raiders but I guess nows a good time to go down and get a couple. Any ideas??
The first time I played the 5th ed dex, and the first I used JoWW it took out a carnifex. I'm not real sure on the rules for synapse but I think he had to take four other models of the table because of it. I need to look in on that.....

JotWW does not cause instant death. It removes the model from play. The current and previous nid codex does nothing to prevent JotWW.

Fexes in the 4th ed nid dex were Initiative 1 or 2 at best (with adrenal glands). Meaning if they were successfully targeted by JotWW they would be removed if the owning player rolled either 2+ or 3+. Problem with characteristics tests is rolling equal to or less as the rule.

Let the dark eldar and orks worry about hitting the nids up close.

Range the nids with Njal a second Rune Priest.

As for the chaos marine side of things...

Grey Hunters in Drop Pods

-------------------------------------------------------------

Since he insists on using 4th ed dex, I'd say it's open season on jaws of the world wolf. Just have a way to keep your rune priests up and running.

I think I would take this list:

1798pts

Njal Stormcaller: Runic Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Bolter, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Bolter, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Chainfist, Heavy Flamer, Terminator Armour

Rune Priest: Jaws of the World Wolf, Murderous Hurricane

Wolf Guard: Wolf Claws, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Power Fist, Storm Bolter , Terminator Armour

Rune Priest: Jaws of the World Wolf, Murderous Hurricane

Wolf Guard: Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Wolf Claws, Terminator Armour

Wolf Guard: Chainfist, Storm Bolter, Terminator Armour

Drop Pod (drops empty after the other two pods)

Ragnar Blackmane

9Grey Hunters: Power Fist, Meltagun, MotW, Wolf Standard

Drop Pod

Wolf Priest: Meltabombs

9Grey Hunters: Power Fist, Meltagun, MotW, Wolf Standard

Drop Pod

think on this power its the 6 thats the fail. so its above the initive or a 6. mcs get to add 1 but a 6 still fails. Only thing with the power is which unit do the unit hes attached to have to fire at, and you cant change your mind if the carnifex goes poof, though plasma would still have to be rolled if you had decided to roll it...
