Thank you very much, he was actuly a test model with tau sept and L.darksun being used on the same model, i have the whole pack and brought three models twice, (including this model)

if you want i'll PM you the 'yellow recipie' i use.

again thank you for the kind words

@zincite: thank you fella for the kind words, 'too golden', that's really ironic as I don't use 'golden yellow' atall in my colour scheme for my IFs lol as I my self dislike the bright golden look.

And no I haven't entered golden deamon, wouldn't dream of it atm, I may in the future (10years down the line)

my armys taking ages as I'm spending on average 5hours just on a basic marine, this model took me 12hours in total.

Absolutely stunning brother, your technique is flawless. If i had to pick a criticism, then i would say that its not what i would call an Imperial fist Yellow... it looks more beige to me but that could well be the camera/lighting.

Top work though, you should be very proud!

@sunThirster: thank you very much, I did take the picture in direct sunlight (thinking that'll show more of a yellow tinge) know better now, in a 'brightish' room my IF colour scheme is more of a dark cheddar or light mustard shade, but thank you very much for the kind words.

@Ecritter: thank you for your kind words and I do apologise about the link thing, I just know how yo make a link and paste that into my post, I'm a very one path electronic kinda guy, turn my 360 on, select 'live' and team death match lol

and for all you that have commented and viewed my pictures I will be trying a different method on the very same model I have spare but with added golden yellow to see how it turns out, but may just try on a spare tac marine I have, don't really want to 'experiment' on such a stunning model.

Hope all your Xmas day was grat and full of happiness btw.

That is a very well painted model, nice job!

There is one thing I have to point out though:

The gun barrels, for such a high level of painting I think not having them drilled or at least not having the holes painted on, impacts on the overall "greatness" of said model.

That said though, keep up the good work and please post more!!!

@chaplain hilt: thank you for your props and insight on my model, I unfortunatly don't own them little drills but I think it's time to invest in one lol, next picture to be posted will be either my 9th deve squad of 4th company, kantor (edited) or another space hulk model.

Things i recommend :

go over your model after its painted, even take pics and look at them on the comp, you will catch things you did not see before.

The back side image, several locations where paint is spilled over...top of terminator, as well as back of right leg.

Besides cleaning it up a tiny more, I would say work more on the range of shadow - highlights...unless its your style then its good work. Its just that the shadows seem really hard.

Keep it up...and drill the barrels.

I second both these statements!

Beautifully done, but the bolters need to be drilled out!

*whipcrack* Now... git' paintin' and git' postin'!! ^_^

Cheers,

Lawrence.

@r166: not a problem.

Undercoat chaos black.

Then I basecoated this model with Tau sept, it took around 3layers to get a clean solid colour as I water Down my paint to add depth and blending.

Next was a very heavy wash of Ogryn flesh mixed with water: 2:1 mix, give two coats of this mixture.

Re-apply Tau sept in around three layers again but blend from egdes to recesses.

Mix a 2:1 mix of tau sept and L.darksun, and thinnky layer this on to get an even blended layer, continue to use these too with mix ratios of 2:0.5, then 1:1 until finally using L.darksun.

Now mix 2:1 mix of water and orgryn flesh and apply this to the whole models armour to darken down the armour a bit more.

Re - layer L.darksun, then start adding bleach bone to it sparingly for two steps (whilst blending I'll add again)

Bleached bone added to the edges thinnly (blended) for three layers

and that's how I painted this models armour....

For some I have PM I've relaised that I dod miss a few things out to simplyfy it for you (no disrespct, plus it was Xmas day and I was on my phone at the table lol)

so this recipie is the full length process of my way to paint an IF.

Hope this helps everyone thAt sees it.

Rob

Very nice work overall. I prefer my yellow's brighter, but the overall effect and paint scheme is top notch! I too thought it looked like a deathwing termie at first because it so pale. WOW twelve hours per marine--I only dream of having that kind of time to paint!

Keep up the great work and keep posting pictures so we can follow your progress.

@brother claudius: I rearely have 'alot' of time.....I paint 30mins to an hour a night (try to) and generally don't get that but I've had alot of time off work lately...so was able to put in some time.....but my 4th company is going to be a long time being finished, If only I could win the lottery and then all I'd do every day is go to the gym, MMA, krump and paint/game with my IFs.......great life.

But thank you very much for your kind words.....I have tried the bright yellow but disliked it massivly.......just didn't feel right too me. Personal prefrances really, I have so many chapters I wanna paint and build units for but my 4th IF company is my project right now and I must finish this project.
