I am Legion
It's so funny to hear that now people are running hybrid lists. I did this from the start and people kept criticizing that it'll never work, and it's got to be mech only. I'm glad people have come around and there isn't so much negativity regarding hybrid lists. Just a tip for people running hybrid lists. have flamers instead of melt equiped units inside the transports. your RAS can have the melta guns as they'll be your vanguard and can react to situations better. Cheers. Now back to the topic. 2 Storm ravens, and 2-3 baal preds is a good start. add some jumpers and a dread or two. this will let you cover the basics, i'e defense. first couple of turns you'll have the enemy move at you as you blow their tanks to pieces with the SRs. Their transports with your baal preds then once they get close counter the crap out of them with assaulting furiosos and RAS or sanguinary guard or what have you. There are a million all rounder lists that work for BAs I've discovered. When I build a list I always take 6 anti-tank weapons and 4-5 anti-infantry. some double as both like assault cannons, but i try to avoid that if possible. P.S. what the heck is blood rodeo? JamesI
I believe this is the original Blood Rodeo blog post. http://kirbysblog-ic.blogspot.com/2010/04/...lood-rodeo.html Others, such as YTTH, have tried their own variations on it, and Morticon was running a similar list. He can probably better answer how it works as I don't own the bikes to try it out.

Ruthven
If anyone is interested I will post the list, but I have had great success against all kinds of armies/lists. Oh yes please, that would be fine! :D Ok, I don't have my list or my book handy, but I can give you the gist of the list, sans point costs. Librarian with Terminator armor and Storm Shield Librarian with Jump Pack 10x Assault Squad, Melta x2, Powerfist x9 Assault Squad in a rhino, x1 Melta and a fist x9 Death Company in a rhino with x2 Power weapons and a Fist. x3 Sanguinary Priest, x3 Power weapons, one of them takes a Jump pack to go with the jumping assault squad. Chaplain with no upgrades to lead the DC in the rhino. 5x Assault Termies, 3 Thunderhammers in a Landraider Crusader with extra armor and a multimelta That should be roughly 1850, I tweak the list to add a dread or two from time to time, generally I drop one of the Librarians and a few of the DC to fit the dreads or a autocannon/las pred into the list. The idea of the list is to give your opponent no good options to shoot at. If your opponent shoots at the rhinos, they leave the land raider unscathed to bring the nasty hammer unit with a libby allowing them to get preferred enemy and the 2 lightning claws rerolling to hit and wound. If the opponent sinks shots into the landraider, they have DC or an Assault squad in their face on turn 2. Often time, moving 18" and popping smoke on turn 1 is going to allow your units in the rhinos to deploy and assault something on turn 2. That also allows you to deploy the jumppacks from DoA, or on the board, or even just normal reserves and put them where they need to be. You can drop the DC and add whatever you like, but I really enjoy them, and they're fluffy!

You make a great point. and the other post that said "Its all about being a good general". along with my choice of supporting units, I run 10 terminators with 2 priests (5 Assault termies with claws, regular squad with cyclone), and a 8 man Death Company in a LRC W/ Chaplain. I also have a Furioso (magna/melta/Frag) drop podding in turn 1. You dont need to have a "Specialized list.. you just have to have some tricky A$$ units along with supporting fire. make them go after your terminators while that fatty Death Co. hits home.. And all this with a Furioso sitting in their backyard waiting to wreck sh*t up. That is how most of my games start.. I just wait for mistakes to be made and capitalize on them.. thats how you compete my friends
grazer
I finally tried my hand at a Descent of Angels list today, 1500 points and brought home two wins. The list is: Librarian: jump pack, Sword and Shield powers (in hindsight, I think Lance & Shield would work better) Chaplain: jump pack Sanguinary Priest: power weapon, jump pack 3x RAS: 2x meltas, fist (one of the above goes with each of these) 5 man VAS: 2x power weapons & bolt pistols, power fist & bolt pistol, storm shield & chainsword, chainsword & bolt pistol & melta bombs Sanguinary Guard: power fist, infernus pistol Previously I've played what I refer to as 2nd edition Space Marines lists, consisting of RAS, Baal Predators, Predator, Librarian, attack bikes, landspeeders, tacticals on foot, etc. Not had a huge amount of success with those lists.
