An insane amount of painting, but for a worthy goal. I wish you the best of luck. (Note: do you also plan to paint the fortress for the event or is that just normally on your own to-do list? )

May I ask no better yet, CLAIM pictures á plenty of the mega battle these will support?

The battle is suppose to occur on an ork zone with plenty of ork structures... so no DA fortress... But maybe if I find the courage, mine will be done at time anyway... (It's half done at the present time)

Of course and I'm sure you'll find plenty of pics on the official GW website cos a 10000pts battle with one Warlord and one Mega Gargant is something GW will cover during their event

By the way the Caestus is undercoated and painted with its base colour

I would like to make a big coloured strip at the rear of the vehicle just like this :

But do you think it will look better in DA green to keep the Green coherency with the other vehicle or in Dark red to fit with the bone/red traditionnal livery of the Deathwing?

Note that it would be a Dark Red, not a BA Red...

Talking a bout BA, here's my WIP for my DW Command squad (note that I would surely also convert a TH/SS-ML termi and that I also have a Termi Standard Bearer with TH/SS, allowing me to field 3/5 members with the TH/SS which is IMO enough for suvivability)

Yeah heard about that... I haven't tried...

I've had a look on their website and found that.

Seems like the Green is a little too dark comparing to what I've already done...

Thanks!

I've just finish to paint another squad of marines. It's the Tactical squad #2. I've just done the weapons options that are supposed to be played on GD, ne other ones will wait... The sqaud just need to be flocked.

I've been Asked on another forum to make a tutorial for my robe painting technique so I think that it's the occasion to post it as well.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Masteravoghai/Dark%20angels/TutoRobe.jpg

Step 1 : After a black undercoat, I've used Bestial Brown. This colour is more a 2nd undercoat than a base colour due to the fact that Graveyard has few pigments and need a lighter base color (ignore this step if you use a white undercoat).

Step 2 : I've recovered entirely the Bestial Brown with Graveyard Earth.

Step 3 : I've used a 50-50 mix of Graveyard and Bleached Bone. The deepest parts of the robe are left in Graveyard Earth.

Step 4 : This is the basic Colour : Bleached bone, don't hesitate to use 2 layers to have a intense colour. Leave apparent some deep parts with the previous colour.

Step 5 : First enlightment : 50-50 mix of Bleache Bone and Skull white on the reliefs. Note that before this step, I've painted the amour parts and the details around the robe. The reason is simple. If I put some green on te robe, I still can pass a layer of bleached bone on it. Moreover since steps 5 and 6 are just details, don't risk to put some paint on the armour like on the previous steps.

Step 6 : 2nd Enlightment : pure Skull white one the edges.

Hope this helps

Glad you like it. Note you can avoid step 1 by using Khemri Brown instead of Graveyard.

I've just finished Brother Bethor and the 1st termi of my DW command squad

Hope you like them :

Awesome work, Master Avoghai! I really like the freehand on the banner.

How much Blood Angels iconography is on the Space Hulk Termis and how big a pain is it to get it all off? I've avoided most of the BA stuff because I figured it would be pretty rough to get it all off cleanly and then put DA icons back on, but now I'm thinking I missed out on two squads of really awesome Terminators. Your first DW looks great!

Thanks!

The BA icons are not that difficult to remove. Sometimes I've used DA details to hide some remnants of the BA icons (for ex the DA symbol above the termi's head)

If you have some sculpting abilities you can easily replace a blood drop by a sword and obtain a DA symbol

By the way I've finished the Apothecary :cuss

Brilliant work MAster Avoghai.... the terminators look excellent. Personally I hate the tw LC termie from Space Hulk as the pose is somewhat primeval, as f he is trying to beat his chest and shout a challenge but with that paint job it looks the best i have seen.. <_<

SG

Thanks SG! Actually I love this wolverine-style pose... he he ;)

Just a little WIP of the up-to-come Deathwing Banner

That pose is exactly wolverine. There is no way that was not intentional. (And I like it aswell.) Yes it's a bit animalistic, but that is what gives the pose the power. (Though I would advise against chestbeating with a pair of lightning claws....)

I also bought the space hulk box and I must say the BA bits are mostly easy to remove, or stick a DA icon over them.

@Avoghai, keep up the good work.
