=][= Litany of Chastisement

Below is the start of my baby, my child of resin and molded plastics.

The Litany of Chastisement is modeled after the much-feared Inquisitorial 'Black Ships' that scour the worlds of the Imperium of psykers and other unsavoury folk. Taken to a more front-line role, it works in direct conjecture with the Grey Knights and other agents spread throughout the Holy Ordos, taking on it's annual ferrying duties as needs must.

After putting it all together, I have to say this : resin SUCKS. There were some serious gaps between the tail end and the main chassis that had me wondering if the thing would stay together at all. A little greenstuff, a little ingenuity with a heat gun, and I got it mostly fixed....mostly. There are still some holes here or there, but I'll work on that as I get around to it.

I managed to fit it together this evening, basecoat it in Adeptus Battlegrey, and took the time to do some detail work on the side embarkation hatch, detailed in the photo below.

I figure over the next several weeks, I'll be moving across it a section at a time to avoid getting discouraged at such a huge undertaking. The only thing more pleasing than finishing it, is seeing the look of 'I am so f'd' on my opponent's face when I drop this bad boy in the middle of the field.

On another note, this thing is freakin' huge. Measuring it at 19 inches long and 17 wide at the wingtips, it's definitely not something 'graceful' when it comes to lugging around.

More to come as I fiddle with it :)

I've wanted one of these ever since I found out there was a model for it. The things that put me off are the price and the sheer amount of work I'd have to put in to justify the frigging massive cost.

Good on you, and I'll be watching this thread with great interest ^_^

The only reason i was able to afford something like this was because I happened to be deployed overseas for about 10 months, and had extra money to throw around. Cool? Yes. Unwieldy? Yes.

I just wanted to have something that, when walking into a game shop, people stopped what they were doing to come and look.

Probably less common than a Titan too. Good choice. Are you going to airbrush it or paint it by hand?

@Shorts - A little from column A, a little from column B. I do have myself a nice double-action Iwata brush that will come in handy for turning the thing a nice, dusky black when the time comes, but certain details are going to need to be brushed on or touched up, just to ensure it looks the way I want it to.

As far as commonality, I haven't seen a Titan yet, though that was on the list of possibilities of purchasing if I ended up with a spare chunk of money for no particular reason. We'll see where it goes...so far, my commissions are going to eat up some time until around the end of January.

So I decided to bust out my resin icons and such for the great beast, and attached the first to the nose of the craft.

Tried a new technique to get my gold to stand out a little better considering that it was going to be on the prow of a ship intended for both atmospheric and spatial flight. I enjoyed doing it, but I don't think the beer helped.

Next up is painting the actual insignia, parchment wreath, and icons on the side!
