Kanis
So, my brothers... I was recently in a team game with a friend of mine against two chaos traitors. My Sanguinary Priest was near a few Guard units, and so, because the words "friendly" are used for the Blood Chalice, my partner and I assumed our armies could share such a thing. Now, the rulebook recently had the FAQ stating that we cannot benefit from an "Opponents" rules or wargear; however, my teammate is not an opponent, but the chaos players raged on that we couldn't make use of the FNP bubble from my priest to the Guardsmen. What are your opinions on this matter? Friendly does or does not affect a partner's units? Thanks for the input and, the Emperor Protects. :)
BLACK BLΠFLY
Corbulo's chalice was stated in the old PDF codex as affecting friendly BA units thus leading me to believe the new rules does indeed work for any ally. Try teaming up with an ork horde for some bloody fun. ;) G :)

DV8
It's up to the tournament/event organizers and they have the final say insofar as to allow a player's buffs or any beneficial AoE powers to apply to their allies. If they do not clarify, it is up to you the player to get an answer from them (your interpretation/decision and/or your opponent's interpretation/decision is moot and irrelevant in a situation like this). Most tournaments/events I've played at have specifically ruled that in team games, a player's army is entirely self-contained and that any buffs/AoE powers they have that refer to "friendly" models only affects their own army, and not their ally's. And this is to avoid the aforementioned ridiculousness of such things as large mobs of Tyranids or Orks being given Feel No Pain by Sanguinary Priests, or using Big Meks with Kustom Force Fields to grant obscured saves to an entire army of marines (as an example). Drachnon
Yup depends on the tournament, I'll be playing in a small local doubles tournament where wargear and special rules don't effect each other. I personally think that such things should be decided on a case by case basis. For example for Necron I'd add the armies together for the purpose of phase out. bulley
Typically doubles games do not confer abilities across allies/partners to avoid super combo's unbalancing - for example "the best of both" with BA and SW, the psyker assain with a psyker battle squad and so on and so forth. If you guys agree to allow it - then go ahead, its techincally not against any rules, much like how you can techincally ally something into your army from the older codex's to benefit (Vulkan + Sisters of Battle for example), but generally as I say, outside of a friendly enviorment most people will do things like limit you to stay with in certain FOC parameters and not allow rules to cross over lists (this usually extends even to same armies, for example to stay with BA's here - one guy takes Astorath, and the other guy rolls 1-3 for RT). I've done a couple of double games where we went with "inbetween" rules - removed things like "Unique" limits - so I faced up against a double Logan army (urgh) but we avoided letting people cross over (for example Logan 1 didnt effect Space Wolves 2). Just best to agree to "issues" before the game and no one can argue when you have Ork's getting FC/FNP lol.

Chapter Master Ignis Domus
It delends on the rule. If, for instance, we take Vulkan, he has the whole twinlinked thing because of the skill of the salamanders, so allies wouldn't get that. But if we take a Big Mek, his force field is still going to provide a force field no matter who you are.
Dhx711
We've (my regular group) always pleyed friendly means your own models only unless other wise stated... ie (Astorath's Shodow of the Primarch rule)
