Averagetoaster
http://www.99chan.in/tg/src/129341923944.jpg I received a Space wolf Battleforce, Predator tank and Space Marine Scouts for Christmas. This is my first army and so I moved quick to put these things together. So quick that i never looked at my codec, In the Picture is my drop pod, my predator, and 8 troops all armed with Bolter and Wolf Claw. While these are a work in progress, Looking at my Codec my units would be considered a Wolf Guard Pack? Is this right? Have I messed up already? My predator only has the one cannon but I'm not sure what it is called. My other question pertaining to it is how much extra armor can I place on it? Darkseer
Welcome young pup! There is much to learn about the Space Wolves from how to paint them to how to play them and of course how to adopt the correct Space Wolf mentality. Ale and Ho's! Looks like you're off to a good start, getting to grips with the basic model kit. Not keen on the drop pod colours though :teehee: May I recommend the following articles which may help you out: how to paint space wolves top 5 space wolf units Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217952-space-pup/#findComment-2599611 Share on other sites
Schertenleib
Interesting figure there with the communications dish behind his head and what looks like the Mechcanicum shoulder pad. I found myself in the same spot when I started (not too long ago). Just started making models and had not read the codex. I've found that a bath of Simple Green will weaken the superglue enough to take them apart again. That is as long as you didn't use plastic glue to assemble the figures. Plague Dave
I hope you're reading up on the codex. Lots of important information in there for your growing army. And yes, what you've assembled in haste would only be used as Wolf Guard, or some of the HQ. Sadly, you won't need nearly that many with Wolf Claws, so you'll probably want to crack off those arms, and remake them as Grey Hunters (you'll need a ton of those). Get the supporting arms for any bolters held across the body, or close combat weapons (the chain swords) on them, and you'll have a good start on what will be the bread and butter of your army. Averagetoaster
Thanks for the help, some units for ease i found using a hot glue gun has made the process a ease, granted the tank has gaps but I plan on taking small scrap metal and covering them and making them look rusted over like a shotty patch job and use a heat gun to give it heat damage. Not all paint is final as i have not begun had painting yet the units and tank were just covered in ultra matted paint and then in white. Today a friend who has more experience in building a army is going to help me, Ill post pictures tonight. The unit with the com was from the spare man from the tank kit and thought it would look nice, he has a copper base with a white coat. I started hand painting them a little once i got them finished up, the squad all have Bolters and 2 have Plasma guns (10 units total). http://i56.tinypic.com/ok90rc.jpg My plan today is to divide up a close range/ melee squad. any suggestions I was thinking 1/2 with power fists and other half with chain swords and someone with the chain sword having the mark of wulfen. Brother Tuditanus
Just a few questions... Are you actually painting the models green, or is that some sort of modeling putty? Secondly... If you're doing a Grey Hunter squad, you're plopping WAY too many pts. giving half of them power fists... And the Codex states only one may take that upgrade. If you're doing a Wolf Guard unit... I'm not sure why you'd do so many power fists. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/217952-space-pup/#findComment-2602191 Share on other sites
