Land Speeder Storm Scout Conversions

Just wanted to share my Scouts made out of the passengers from the LSS kit.

It's my biggest 40k project so far. Not the most professional outcome admittedly but good enough that they will proudly complete my 1500 SM list.

BTW there are 2 PF/Shotgun sergeants, 2 shotgun, 2 boltgun and 4 BP/CCW guys. They will be mixed and matched with a regular scout box to round out 3 scout squads.

I like the poses you have acheived, although if the one who is on a window frame? Was actually placed in front of a door he may seem a bit for "In action" than out of place but thats my OOP. Im guessing the Sitting scouts were the hardest to pose? But even so great job good sir.

Yeah, the two sitting ones were really tricky. I am fairly happy with the hurdling and running outcomes.

I think that if you were good with green stuff you could easily make better poses for those two.

I was just thinking one might look good kicking another model in the chest too.

Aye, sweet models so far. But... what is that one guy doing there?

He looks a little like he were wiping his butt after taking a dump... ^^

I think the butt wipe scout is posed as looking for tracks....when you're basing, use a foot from another model to press down on the still wet-glued flock to make an imprint in the actual shape of a foot. It would be a really neat addition to that model in my opinion.

Otherwise, I think they look great.

The thinking is that he is running ducked low like trying to get behind cover from incoming fire.

I'm considering building some sort of wall for him to be ducked in behind.

The tracks idea could work too, thanks for that.

in my mind, its pretty hit and miss, some of them are good, some of them not quite.

the one popping a squat looks like hes tripped over something, and the one on top of the wee wire frame looks like hes displaying feats of agility by crossing that mental russian cossack dance http://l.thumbs.canstockphoto.com/canstock1497177.jpg with tight-rope walking. and dont get me wrong, anyone who could do that must be pretty skilled.

If his arm is a little further down and maybe a bit of hand modelling, it would look more like hes unholstering his sidearm or another mag.

And maybe the kicking scout on the window frame would look nice doing a breach manouver on a door or kicking something down perhaps?

Ok, hand will definitely need to be moved....

As for the other guy this is kind of what I was envisioning.

The scout running along and jumping some sort of obstacle.

Interesting work. For the window frame guy, it may look a bit more natural to turn him on his right side, to make him look more as if he's rolling over cover rather than an awkward hurdle jump. A different terrain piece may be a good call, too.

If you want to keep the hurdle jump pose as is, it may work to change the contact point with the frame. Gluing his rear shin or knee to the frame would create a more "over" effect than the way he looks with his foot planted right on top.
