Something new..

Sooo. My external harddisc crashed. And with it everything I had on it, whether work, lesiure, ref or personal work, just is gone.

So no more Nightlord. Sorry guys... I'll make up for it...

Here's a preview of something new.

This is cropped and not done yet. And it's also at my working-size, so it might look a bit crude since it is way to big in compariso to how it should be, sizewise.

C&C welcome

you might want to think about www.Carbonite.com an data storage company that encrypts your data, and stores it for you automatically each time you log on. An can be accessed anywhere there's an internet source to restore everthing.

Will look into that. Cheers!

pretty damn amazing, what are you using to compose with?

It looks nice and painterly, while still being totally 40k, Great Job!

Uhm..compose? What I use to paint with? I paint in photoshop CS5, using wacom intuos4 and utilizing the new bristlebrushes to get a more painterly feeling.

That's a very cool looking Terminator.

Cheers, I hope to make him look even cooler.

Oh man the update looks awesome, i love the blazing sun around the head and the metal effect on the armour. Lovely! The only quibble i find with your bare heads is that they always seem a bit... deadpan, not much emotion or character to the faces. It takes nothing away from the peice though!

I am sorry to hear about losing all your work mate, that must be hard! Your a skilled chap though, you will get past it and no doubt draw better because of it as well!

I like to portray sereene/determined characters, I guess I'll have to move to more action and rage ;) But not with this one...

Kinda like a Jesus-in-TDA... I like it.

Hahaha, well..."sons of gods" etc etc... :D

Jebus usually is equalled with reverence, which is sort of what I am going with this one, so I guess that's a good thing :)

Time to choose what this guy actually is... Marine of "unnamed chapter", Chaplain, Inquisitor..Chaos???

I don't know right now... but it will influence the detals alot.

Really fantastic art, maybe make a guard next to him at the black space?

Not a bad idea, though he's going to hold some sort of weapon that end up there..Axe, Sword, Mace, Crozius or somesuch...originally I thought axe but now I'm undecided.

Had to think of good old Albrecht Dürer when I saw this...

Especially the colours you've used so far add to that impression.

Very sweet indeed!

Fantastic stuff. You've done a great job on this one.

I'd go with marine, maybe a knightly order of some kind.

That got my vote to ;) .

I'm sorta undecided right now, letting it sink in, the visuals, but it's heading towards this.

I liked it more as a centred portrait without the weapon, but your next update will change my lack of faith!

I hope it will, the central portrait has it's merits, but I feel this will have a stronger sense as far as composition goes...we'll see ;)

Yeah, though I'm more towards carravaggio in terms of light, colours and detail. :HQ:

Incidentally I live in the same city as Durer spent a whole lot of time of his life... :)

A chaplain! ;D

Really enjoying looking at the metal effects and more of the detailing on the elbow, around the neck and the torso, this peice is coming on a treat!

Definately a deadpan look rather than serene.
