Obliterator
I just about finished my Salamanders drop pod, and while I'm very happy with how it turned out, I'm having problems with opening and closing the doors: it rubs off the paint. While the outside seems to have plenty of clearance, and my paint isn't slapped on too thick, something on the inside seems to scratch against the doors, scratching off the paint and revealing the green primer: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/Obliterator/Salamanders/DropPoddamagedetail.jpg Has anybody else had this problem, or does anybody know how to solve this? Obviously, breaking open the drop pod isn't an option any more B) I did already varnish it as I hoped this would fix this, but no such luck. I used Army Painter's Greenskin colored primer, added a layer of Chainmail, and then a Devlan Mud wash, so the paint shouldn't be too thick. .Torch.
I'm painting a drop pod at the moment, when it dries I'll have a look. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218197-drop-pod/#findComment-2602164 Share on other sites
winterdyne
Oddly wear down to black primer usually looks OK, so I run with a black primer a lot on moving objects. You can't really solve your situation as is, other than sanding down and repainting. fudblinker
Maybe slap some glossy varnish on the offending area and hit it with some matte varnish spray to remove the glare? It may not solve the issue completely, but it should at the very least cut down how often you might have to touch up the area.
