Twipp
Hi all. I am planning to change my TDA team Stormbolters to a combi-weapons, after that is it still with the stats of Stormbolter or does that Combi-weapon count as a regular bolter? I am thinking to mod my (already clued) Stormbolter hands to a combi-guns, is it ok or should i somehow use a regular bolter hand with a TDA Wolf Guard model? BWT i found a nice convert guides from this forum. Very nice work. Brother Tuditanus
P. 57 of the Codex: Space Wolves "Combi-weapons are bolters that have been specially modified by the most skilled Iron Priests in the Chapter. Each has been expertly converted to house another weapon either a meltagun, plasma gun or flamer. This extra weapon carries only a limited charge, allowing the bearer a single shot, but one that often makes all the difference...A Space Marine armed with a combi-weapon...can choose to fire either the bolter, or the secondary weapon... The bolter can be fired every turn..." Mentions three times in the wargear entry for combi-weapons 'bolter'... Nothing about 'storm bolter'... So no go on the stormbolted, unless you made it a single bolter barrel with underslung, or however you wanted, secondary weapon, and still used the regular bolter stats. Token
Could you link to that convert guide? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218198-wolf-guard-tda-firearm-question/#findComment-2602335 Share on other sites
Brother Tuditanus
There's not a guide really... I just thought it up.. Basically, cut the storm bolter barrel, make another one from plasticard tube, or cut the barrel off a loose bolter (waste, imho), glue, and then add whatever the secondary weapon is under the bolter barrel or however you want it. You don't need a guide for everything m'man, get the xacto and glue out and try it. You'll do better than you think I bet. Schertenleib
Here's a good conversion guide. http://space-wolves-grey.blogspot.com/2009...bi-weapons.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218198-wolf-guard-tda-firearm-question/#findComment-2602350 Share on other sites
Evilmerlin
I saw a friend make a very simple combi-weapon conversion. Simply slice off the bottom bits of a bolter and stick on top of whatever weapon you want. Tada! Instant combi-weapon! You don't need a guide for everything m'man, get the xacto and glue out and try it. You'll do better than you think I bet. This is what I did. Cut off the storm bolter "barrel" (which is a horrendous oval shaped thing anyways), with the free space add a barrel from a loose bolter or bolt pistol on one side and the barrel of your combi weapon on the other. Edit - Which is exactly what the Space Wolves Blog link says. dragon950
Why are you changing your stormbolters to combi-bolters? Seems like a bad idea. Brother Nathan
with in 12 inches they fire the same. it also gives versility as to being able to fire melta or flamer, or even rapid firing plasma. all of which are understandable. Fred Johnson the 3rd jr
with in 12 inches they fire the same. The fire the same within 12 and can assault either way (because of the Relentless rule). And of course between 12 and 24 you get one extra shot with the SB. But in many cases, it is often is desirable to have a one-shot special weapon blast rather than the measly second stormbolter blast. Which is what you pretty much just said.
