Witch Hunters Super Heavy

Hello B and C. I haven't been on for what feels like a long time and I need a bit of help.

I got the Apocalypse (and reload) Codex for Christmas, and was a bit confused. As I'm sure you all know, there arn't any SoB datasheets. This was news to me as I haven't done much 40K recently due to health reasons.

I kind of remember seeing a datasheet for some kind of tank-cathedral (may have been called a War Cathedral). But I can't find it on GW's webite or anywhere else for that matter. If you lovely people (pandering) could post a link to said tank, or any "official" Apocalypse Witch Hunters datasheets I would be very greatful.

I understand that WH and DH got kind of dismantled, and 40K rules seem to be spread out over a dozen locations (GW, Forge World, White Dwarf, Internet...). This is an awfull lot to try and wrap my brain around. I just really want to see the rules for the Cathedral, I'm hoping something that cool might get me back into the game.

Finally, I apologize if this has already been adressed, or if my post is stupid for any reason. Thank you for any help you can give! :P

Bad news there. There are no SOB Superheavies at all, and not much in the war of army setups. There is one that allows exorcists to fire twice in one turn in exchange for not firing in the next turn 1/game but not much else.

The GK one is worse. Minor advantages in exchange for the GK switching sides the moment the battle is one and killing your troops. That one can singlehandedly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

There are two Sisters formations in Imperial Armor Apocalypse II. One is a unit of Exorcists, the other involves a Heroine, Celestian bodyguard, two troops units in transport, three Immolators, and gives boosts to the flamers of the unit. Pretty nice stuff really. That's the book to look for though if you're needing "official" Sisters Apocalypse stuff

The tank cathedral sounds a bit like it micht have been Commissar Yarrick's pimp-mob-, I mean person Baneblade. But seeing as all of those Guard Super-heavies can be taken as allies, there's no reason why you can't have one in your force. In fact, I think the Hellhammer variant would work pretty well, with TL heavy flamer sponsons and a main cannon which ignores cover saves in just the same way, I think that would work. Stick on some laud-hailers and Sister's icons just for show and you're good to go.

Or take one of the Stormlords, which has a transport capacity of 40 and fill it full of sisters. 20 of them can fire from the top hatch, so that could be a lot of embarked heavy flamer drive-bys.

GW has not released any official Super-heavy vehicles for the Witch Hunters, but there are a couple fan-made ones. The not-so-floating War Cathedral found here and the enormous exorcist know as the Ecclesiarch found here. As mentioned, semi-official data sheets for Witch Hunters can be found in the Forgeworld book: Imperial Armour Apocalypse II.

Another approach would be :

1 Cannoness w/ Celestine retinue

1 Celestine squad

6 Battle Sister squads

2 Retributor squads

1 Bellerophon Airborne Assault Group formation w/ 10 Valkyries

1 Holy War strategic asset

Cost ~3,500pts

Spice to taste with Repentias, Seraphim, etc. and enjoy. <_<

I am so impressed by the knowledge of you guys and girls!

This is unfortunate. I considered the two tanks Fredegar Kadere posted to be some of the coolest things about 40K. Finding out they arn't "official" is disheartening.

Problem is, I'm 18 and have a chronic illness, so I can't go off to collage. I thought trying to get back into 40K would be a good way to use time. Sisters of battle and Grey Knights have always seemed to be the most unique armies to me. All of the other armies have masive similarities to Alien, Starship Troopers, Terminator, Fallout, or Lord of the Rings. I know this is a Space Marine board, but if I may be so bold as to ask, is there another army unique as the Sisters of Battle? I really like them, despite their armor (or lack there of).

If not (and I hope asking this question isn't opening Pandora's box), is there any solid time frame on this fabled update? If it isn't soon, I think I'll need to go crawling back to Nurgle. Maybe he can help my sick brain make sense of 40K again. :(

Happy new year!

Space Marine board? Heresy! This is a Power Armour board! Sisters and particularly rich guard captains (under the old codex) are welcome!

I don't have any pictures at the moment (lost them, haven't retaken them, too tired to set up the lamp etc now), but I converted a Sisters Baneblade that's easy enough to convince your opponents to let you use. Models required are 1 Baneblade, 2 Immolator Upgrade Sprues, 4 plastic rods (optional), 4" of co-ax cable:

Kitbash the turret from the Baneblade Cannon and the Hellhammer Cannon to make an Inferno Gun (stats on the Warhound Titan page). I used the barrel of the Baneblade Cannon, then cut down the hellhammer nozzle and attached it to the sides of the end of the Baneblade barrel. I ran the plastic rods along the bottom of the Baneblade barrel, then used a pair of heavy flamer nozzles (from the Baneblade's sponsons) as pilot lights.

Swap the hull Heavy Bolter turret for a pair of Immolator Heavy Flamers.

Swap the Sponson Heavy Bolters for Multi-Meltas using the Immo's Multi-melta barrels on the Heavy Bolter bodies.

Use the Immo banners on top of the barrel brackers at the rear of the Baneblade's chassis, and the Cherubim Laud Haulers on the front, just behind the smoke launchers.

Seperate out the cables inside the co-axial cable so that you have four 1" lengths of 1mm sheathed wire, and use it to create fuel lines from the barrels on the back of the track guards back into the chassis - or, if you've got more wire and feel ambitious, you can lead them straight to the turret.

Finally, slather in Sisters Plaques from the Immo sprues and paint in your colours!

Charge it at about 550-600 points, treat it as a standard Baneblade with the following weapons/upgrades:

BS 4 FA (as baneblade)

Weapons:

Turret-mounted Inferno Gun (primary weapon)

Hull-mounted Demolisher Cannon

Hull-mounted twin-linked Heavy Flamer (treat as Heavy Flamer, re-roll to Wound)

2x Sponson-mounted Lascannon

2x Sponson-mounted twin-linked Multi Melta

Wargear:

Smoke Launchers

Extra Armour

Laud Hailer

Holy Icon

Options:

Second pair Sponsons with Lascannon + Heavy Bolters/Multi-Meltas/Heavy Flamers

Second pair Sponsons with Inferno Cannon (as Hellhound) + Heavy Bolyers/Multi-Meltas/Heavy Flamers

Swap Sponsons for Extra Armour (as Baneblade)

Portable Chapel (As Command Vehicle for Baneblade)

Problem is, I'm 18 and have a chronic illness, so I can't go off to collage.
I find this hard to believe. Not the illness bit, but the unable to gain admission bit. It was my observation that if you'd otherwise make entrance, most schools would likely bend over backward with assistance programs to get you in. I can only suppose you've actually talked with the various admittance personal to the point where you gotten to someone of an echelon to actually do something. You may also find some aid from what ever disabled persons advocates are local to yourself and the schools of choice. If it's a problem of money, most of these organisations could likely put you on to good leads if you can find the right person to talk to.

I always thought that a sisters approriate superheavy could be buit out of the defence laser datasheet. If one of those was built on a shrine world, I'd lay strong odds that it'd be appropriately gussied up.

To clear misconceptions (because I'd rather not talk about it at this juncture), I am litteraly to ill to do most everyday tasks. I can attempt to function normally for about a day or two, but this has always ended in me vomiting profusely and experiencing tremendous amounts of pain. Getting into a school wouldn't be a problem, staying there would. Thank you very much for the advice and kind thoughts, it really does mean a lot to me! If you are at all interested in my ailments, last time I checked wikipedia had a lovely page on chronic fatigue syndrome. It always warms my heart a little knowing someone is better informed about such things. Again, thank you for the suggestions.

Sorry if this isn't the place for that (I'm noticing I appologize a lot in my posts...)

Time to get back on topic. Miko, I love the idea of a flame based apocalypse vehicle. If a Titan can have an Inferno gun, why CAN'T we slap one on a Baneblade! One question though, would it be to unfair to use a Stormlord kit, to swap out the Demolisher Cannon for some transport capacity? I'd probably add around 50 points to the cost depending on how many models I'd be transporting. I know vehicles of that size move rather slowly, but I like the idea of Sisters of Battle pouring out of a large tank.

Unfair? Possibly.

Unfluffy?

Definitely not.

Basing it off a Stormlord kit would actually make more sense, since the Demolisher Cannon does stand out compared to the rest of the load-out. The only real reason my Hellblade (as I like to call it, as it's named after the demonic sword, "Laevantine") is based off a Baneblade chassis is because when I put her together, that's what I had available - the Stormlord hadn't been released yet, nor did I know they were planning to.

Putting some transport space in A La Stormlord would make sense, since the Sisters are primarily an infantry-based force (they have three vehicles to their name, and none of them is what you'd call a main battle tank).

Couldn't the Sisters "secure" Thunderhawk for Apoc?

I'd say no. If it's good enough to be used as an assault boat and fighter in Battlefleet Gothic, it's probably powerful enough to be considered a naval asset of the kind prohibited by the Decree Passive.

My own take on the SoB superheavy idea is The Shrine of the Emperor's Wrath: two Land Raiders combined into one longer, wider chassis, with a small church in the middle. It's close enough to the Stormlord that it can use those rules.
