Of greenskins and bullet proff land speeders-

 

We did a big team battle this time. 2 VS 2. the green tide on one side. the black templar and panzer brigade on the other.

 

 

The game-

2k per player , 4K per side

spear head with 3 objectives

 

we went first.

 

As i often do i kept nearly half my force in reserve while the BT started everything on the table.

 

The tamplars flanked left and i went right.

 

Our fist turn of shooting was pretty lackluster but we did manage to keep his boom gun from shooting for a turn.

 

then things jsut got downright ugly for the orks. one trukk squad with a war boss tried to ankgle with an ironclad dread. after squiching the warbasshis boys ran away and got run down by the dread. my storm arrieved and showed some bioys the power of purifying flame.

 

Snikrot tried to sneak in and drop my land speeder typhoon but failed to do more than keep it from shooting for a turn....then a second ironclad purified his kommando squad.

 

It actually took the templar a while to get thier land riader collumn into play. the orks tried to death rolla one with a battle wagon, but got a crozarius stuck into it's gas tank for the troubles.

 

 

All told the ork shooting netted them one tactical marine killed from me, they did score a few kills in CC against the templars.

 

I also managed to kill one of my own guys when my libby used gate of infintiy to move his squad around (got doubles)

 

MVP for sillyness goes to the land speeder storm and the 5 scouts inside. it spent 3 turns getting jumped by deth copters, a big squad of boys and a huge ork biker unit. after 3 rounds of the shooting and assaulting the ork player only managed 5 glancing hits, all of them 1s

 

 

We held 2 of the 3 objectives on turn 5 and there was no way for the orks to dislodge us. giving us a solid vicory..

 

Loss wise i had 2 tac marines KIA(one by my own hand) and one ironclad immobilised. the templar lost a few battle borthers and a couple terminators. the orks lost most of their army.

Reading your description, it sounds like the orks made some serious mistakes... I don't know why a warboss would be attached to boyz and then go after an ironclad... He deserved to be IKed! lol

 

Also, Snikrot against a speeder... Certainly there were better targets out there...

yeah sniggy could have easily pulled my tacs off our objective and possibly whiped them but he decided to come in a "safe" area where the speeder was all alone. a second ironclad came in from reserve and purified him with fire.
