Sanguinary Guard

Here are a few images of a Sanguinary Guard squad I've just finished for a customer. These are great models with a lot of detail on them - quite a bit to paint and took me a while!!

Thank you for the kind comments...

The power weapon effects are pretty simple - you'll need Chaos Black, Regal Blue, Hawk Turquoise and Skull White.

Base the weapon with Chaos Black

Put a thickish line of watered down Regal Blue in the shape that you want your power weapon effect to be

Add some Hawk Turquoise to the mix to a 1:1 ratio, and follow the shape laid down by the regal blue. Best to keep this watered down as well.

Next up go for pure Hawk Turquoise, again water it down and keep it between the lines of the earlier painted bits.

Add some Skull White and follow the same steps above. This should give you some good effects, but the final step gives them the kick...

Using some watered down Skull White, add some extreme highlights to the areas that the blue lines criss cross.

I hope that helps - I'll probably knock up a proper tutorial in the near future when I get a chance!
