AlanofAngels
He and some of his pals are posted in my WIP thread (sig), but I figured I would post him here as well since I am kinda proud of him and he is finished. Khârn wants you!... to praise me blood god! And a side by side with one of his mates for a size comparison. Thanks for looking guys! C&C much appreciated! jwentzel
As a fellow Alpha Legionairre it is always good to see the Legion represented. Nice Job.
Firepower
Aside from a chain axe, there isn't much to suggest a model on par with the likes of Khârn in my opinion. He's a lovely model and well done, no question, but he could use something to distinguish him from his brothers as a particularly nasty killing machine. Then again, if I recall Alpha Legionnaires make a big deal out of trying to all look alike and deceive/mislead enemies in the process.
Tyrannicide
You've achieved a very flush looking blue on your Legionnaires, and it looks great. What'd you use for the material on the bases?
Captain Juan Juarez
I'm pretty sure I've dated that face on his back... Good stuff, though I agree with Brother Xenos Psyker Kitten that he needs something - nothing over the top - to distinguish his awesomeness, if such he is. Validar
Very descreete. Pure Alpha Legion. I disagree with the above. I don't see the legion just cutting down on trinkets of awesome pwnage, I see them skipping them alltogether, melting together.
carnosaur93
while i agree that the uniformaty is wonderfully fluffy. he still needs.... something. perhaps kharns pretty glowy plasmapistol? :woot:
AlanofAngels
Thanks for the comments/ suggestions guys. I agree that he does seem to be lacking for a chaos lord, but that is kind of by choice; as validar mentioned, the alpha legion fluff suggests all of the stealthiness and sneakiness. Along those lines, I am having no horned helmets in my army and am leaving many of the more prominantly chaos features off of the guys. @ Darth Potato- the bases are cork board broken up to fit the bases. Khârn has 2 layers on his as you can see the main layer and the small second layer with his raised leg on it. I can throw up a few pictures of it if ya like. Just let me know! Heru
You could at least paint something on his belt buckle that makes him "a bit" more individual/Kharnie. Perhaps also add some blood to the chainaxe.
Yogi
I think he is cool as is. He has the skulls on his backpack that is enough. If you opponent doesn't notice him, well that just part of the plan. Very nice blue by the way.
Hyaenidae
I hate to agree with the majority here, because the conversion work is downright sexy, but "Khârn" needs something...even something simple like scales across his armour, or even a filthy grey cloak. Subdued, but effective at making this guy stand out.
AlanofAngels
Peer pressure! I guess I can throw something on to his belt buckle or some such... lemee see what the locked up parts of my mind have cooked up...

AlanofAngels
What would yall say if I were to add an alpha legion green khorne icon on his belt buckle? Be gentle... it is just an idea! Might make him more Kharny while keeping him in my beloved alpha legion. TOO LATE ALREADY DID IT; PICS UP IN A FEW!
AlanofAngels
Love it or leave it I suppose, but I quite like it (I know that wasnt one of the options). I added the green Khorne icon as discussed above as well as some nice green scales on his left shin that slowly fade back to blue as it wraps around the back. Anywho... I even suprised myself at how quickly I did that! If yall dont care for the khorne symbol, its definetly watered down enough to be removed. C&C as always! Firepower
As much as I like your blue, I didn't even notice the freehand hydra on his greave in the original pic until the 3rd or 4th peek. In short, I think your green could use a bit of brightening up for the sake of contrast (just a smidge, mind you). The designs are plenty enough to set him apart, but they need more work to be plainly visible.

No pictures needed, but thanks. ;) I just purchased some cork pads, so I might be trying out the same thing. And I think your Alpha-Khârn looks fine, but I agree with Heru's suggestion of some blood on the axe/model. Some slicked gore effects could look very cool, if smeared across the axe, the arm holding the weapon, and the leg underneath it.

I think I have an idea, something that can make him unique and stand out from his brothers without drawing too much attention. Why not give him a scaly cloak like those of the Dark Elf Corsairs? Freakiq
Now that's more like it. He looks awesome while still not standing out too much. Very fitting for the Alpha Legion.
AngryJohnny
I really like the green you have on for the Hydra & the scales - I'd leave it as is. Nice looking model.
AlanofAngels
Thanks for the suggestions and kind words guys, but I think I am going to leave him as is. I have thought about adding one of the scaled cloaks from the corsairs, but I like going for the more "practical" look; I imagine it is hard to fight in hand to hand with that massive cloak. That, and it wont fit between his backpack and his rimmed shoulder pad  . Also, as some folks have mentioned, keeping that sort of "unsung hero" appearance is really essential to the Alpha Legion.
Emperor's Scourge
Looks great to me. Very smooth paint job. I agree that he doesn't overtly scream Khârn, but if thats by design then stick with it. Better to be subdued than to violate your original vision for the model. Hellios
Looks great :) Chain weapons are not very stealthy  but I'll let you off for him looking like a BAMF!
