Cpt_Reaper
I recently had a game with a mate of mine, the very mate that got me into 40k years ago. I have never beaten him before yesterday, only ever come a draw. This is because on turn 5 I have victory assured, but he rolls for random game length (1,2,3 it ends on a 4+ it goes and extra round) and I always play to turn 7 and lose horribly. My question is, is this how random game length works and does it apply to every game? greatcrusade08
IIRC it works like this at the end of turn 5 roll a dice, on a 1 or 2 the game ends. if it continues to turn 6 roll a dice, on a 1,2 or 3 the game ends. if it continues to turn 7 the game ends automatically it is set in stone for every game Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218748-random-game-length/#findComment-2608232 Share on other sites

If you play custom missions (maybe in an event) or older missions or those from a battlepack/mission book you may find they do not have random game length or that they may use slightly different rules. However apart from that GC is correct for most of the games people play in 5th edition. awfulawful
IIRC it works like this at the end of turn 5 roll a dice, on a 1 or 2 the game ends. if it continues to turn 6 roll a dice, on a 1,2 or 3 the game ends. if it continues to turn 7 the game ends automatically If you work out the math, it just means that there is a 1/3 chance of a five turn game, a 1/3 chance of six turns, and a 1/3 chance of going the full seven turns.
