augustmanifesto
hey, I'm wanting to paint facial scars (both old and new scars) but can't seem to find any good tutorials. Does anybody know of any tutorials or have a method with pictures which they would be willing to share? thanks! averykess
I would add tiny pieces of green stuff to the model and then paint it flesh color with some highlighting to match scarring/branding. Google facial scarring. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/218825-how-to-paint-facial-scars/#findComment-2609190 Share on other sites
Orphus
If you're not bothered with where the scars go use an extremely tough-bristled brush with very little paint on it. Should work in theory but maybe test it on something first. WingsOfTheFalcon
When I've done it on the past I've used a much deeper pink colour than the rest of the flesh, you don't really need to GS onto the model, just paint a fine line where you want the scar. Solid Zaku
If you're using something like Tallarn Flesh for the color, use a 2:1 mix of TF and Bleached bone for the scar tissue, which is usually a lighter tone than the flesh beneath. After that, if it's a burn, finish it off with very carefully applied gloss varnish. IanV
Check out the painting faces and painting faces redux white dwarf articles @ the GW website. Can't remember which one it was but I know it had a secton on old and fresh scars. Would just give you a link but you need to log-in to see them. Grey Hunter Ydalir
Since this is something I'm interested in, when I get around to painting up my DIY chapter after so, so damn long, would anyone be interested in doing a tutorial for the Librarium?
