hello, im just starting a blood angels army and i was wondering if i could get some help making a 750 to a 1000 point list

Models i have

Captin with infenus and power sword

5 man tac squad with sergent with plasma pistol and power fist

-

Another 5 man tac squad with sergent with plasma pistol and power fist

Honor guard with the apothacry type thing, plasma gumer, melta gunner, compay standard bearer and blood champion

p.s the honor guard are ment for bigger i think its a waste of points in a low point game.

The key thing to pickup at this point are Assault Squads, aka RAS, and magnetize their backpacks so they can have jump packs or not. If they don't have jump packs, they need a ride, either a rhino or razorback.

As far as creating a list, it ultimately comes down to how you want to play. Mechanized: all troops in transports, Descent of Angels: all troops with jump packs, Hybrid: a combination of everything.

Honor guard are indeed to be used in only 1500 or more. And even at 1500 kitting them out to be an effective unit is a minor point sink. Building off of what you already have to do a 1000 list you're 390 points in. If you're going for an assault list I'd do what grazer suggested and throw 2 5 man RAS with melta-gun in razorbacks with Las Cannons. Those would be 2 other squads to attack with, and give you the long range AV of twin linked Las cannons. You're up to 720 at that point so I'd consider going for a Furioso dread with blood talons, replace Storm Bolter to Heavy flamer, and extra armor, 150 points total. Attach a barebones priest to each RAS and that's another 100. This leaves you 30 points to play around with for any other upgrades you may want.

As for physical expenses to build this army, not too much. The Razorbacks and RAS are the biggest chunk, coming out at about $35 per razorback, and $30 per RAS. If you order through The War Store you'll save a bundle, so I suggest using them! The Furioso is a bit of an "if". I think at this point it's pretty much confirmed that there will be a plastic Furioso out soon enough, so you could wait for that. Would probably be much cheaper than the Furioso on GW's site now. Again, if you order through the War Store you could get the Furioso with the load-out I suggested for about $30-$35 dollars without waiting. The priests are pretty expensive singularly, so I went and made mine out of extra marine bits. If you're just starting out that might be a bit hard. I would say buy one model from wherever, and then use the Honor Guard Novitiate in the place of the 2nd. Magnetized backpacks for jump troops is a must!

I'm not a mechanized/gear-head list guru so I can only speculate on this one and not say that it will work well, haven't played a mechanized list after all. I'd say go for a pred with Autocannon and Las sponsons, then a Rifleman dread which is 2 twin-linked autocannons. That puts you at 645 points. Definitely take a librarian with Shield for a meager 100 points. A cover save from a psychic power means you can move your vehicles around more without having to worry AS much about obscuring them from AV. You should still remember to be tactical and not just throw them at the enemy, especially since the Dread and Pred are made to sit back and shoot. I'm very partial to taking a Land Raider at this point and using him as the mobile Librarian bubble since you would measure the cover save from the Land Raider's entire hull. Have the LR, Pred, and Rifle-dread sitnext to each other with their front's facing the enemy's AV and move up the field shielding your Tacs and captain from fire. That puts you at 995 points. You could spend the last 5 points on searchlights or something. Having front AV 13, 14, and 12 with a cover save from the Librarian and then having your Tacs move up to grab points or assist against assaulters seems like a mighty fine chunk of fire power and safety in just a 1000 point size game.

Again, I don't do mechanized so I can only speculate. This list would be slightly cheaper than the previous in terms of cash, the real money being the Land Raider. Librarians are cheap enough to grab a generic one of and make it Blood Angely. I personally use a red and gold re-painted Grey knight as my Librarian.

If you just start off with what you have, all you need is a couple of razorbacks for a 750 list:

Captain + JP+ Ipistol+ PW

Honor Guard + Co.Banner + Champ + Plasma gun+ Melta gun+ JPs

TAC + PF + PP + Razor w/HB

TAC + PF + PP + Razor w/HB

=750

It could use some obvious tweeking but it's not a bad start. I'd try to get bigger guns on the Razors and ditch the PF/PP on the Tac squads. Maybe:

Captain + JP + PW -140

Honor Guard + Co. Banner +PW + Melta gun+ PF +JPs -230

TAC + combi-plasma + Razor w/ Assault Cannons -190

TAC + combi-plasma + Razor w/ Assault Cannons -190

=750

Use the two tac squads as a shooty front and keep the HG/captain near behind as the counter-charge cleanup crew. RAS would be cheaper in the razorbacks, but use what you have.
