Aventine
Someone told me I should do a post of these guys over here, so I did... The army as of a couple months ago, gotten bigger since then, but easily over 4,000 points (almost 20 HQ choices though) http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lm-01.jpg The Masters of the Chapter (not pictured, Malakim Phoros) http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lm-05.jpg The Reclusiam Sanguinary Guard http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/Lamenters043.jpg Master Eurico, Captain of the 2nd (Tycho) http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lamenters030.jpg Assault Squads Volare and Rigio http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lm-12.jpg Assault Terminator Squad Crixus http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/Lamenters015-1.jpg One of my bone-coloured Death Company. I know it isn't canon, but I like it a lot better than a pure black unit... http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lamenters026.jpg The Lamenter, a manifested state of the Sanguinor which only appears at times of great tragedy... http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p6/ChrisCrusader/lamenters025.jpg I have been adding units to this army for a couple years, originally having built it for the Bell of Lost Souls Badab Campaign. I made a big expansion on the army when the Blood Angels Codex came out, I really enjoyed the retcon in that Codex (though I am sad about my battery of Thunderfire Cannons). I'm not sure I'll ever stop adding units, the next one up is my version of Malakim Phoros, then a couple Stormravens in February. The yellow recipe is... Ebsolom
Beautiful looking army you have there Aventine! :) I think I have seen these over on BoLS in a couple of batreps. Kudos for having the balls to do the Lamenters as all that yellow combined with b&w checkers is NOT an easy task. Very well done.

WarpWalker
Beautiful work and painting! I love white death company as I play Angels Encarmine. The checkers are a real pain I'm sure. You must have the patience of a saint.
Redfinger
If I had it to do over, I would totally paint a Lamenters army, I love the yellow, I love the checker pattern...maybe oneday when I am sick of the BA red and feeling ambitious enough to strip and repaint an army.... Great work though!!! Ashton

Aventine
Thanks for all the comments everyone, this army really was a labor of love. The checkers are easy when you pencil them in. @ Demoulius, did it the only way I knew how, took a hacksaw to a metal Tycho...

vharing
Amazing painting, man. It is something to aspire to for me. The only time I have ever seen Lamenters painted that well was an old 3rd Ed on that a guy brought to a tourny at my local gaming club. Good job. Wolf Priest Haelaeif
This is the most awesome yellow marines army I have seen to date, and I really do like yellow marines, so I have seen many. Seriously, you rock.
Plague Angel
Some great looking stuff there, Aventine I really like the Sanguinor incarnation. I never used to be a Lamenters fan, but as my interest in the Badab War has been rising, I'm looking at the Lamenters with more and more interest as our representative in that struggle. You're going to do a Malakim eventually, yes? I can't wait to see him.
BLACK BLΠFLY
WOW !!! -_- I love your stuff man ! I remember seeing the Honor Guard over on the FLOT blog. What is your recipe for yellow? :D G :P

Plague Angel
I am going to make my Malakim Phoros based off the Seth model I think... does that sound like a good place to start? I saw a Malakim model based off of Seth yesterday and it looked fantastic. It cut off the chainblade of the sword and replaced it with the blade from a GK Terminator, and used a plastic Empire General head from Warhammer Fantasy. That would be mine, and thank you for the compliment! B) Also, Aventine, your Lamenters are rather inspirational to my own. Your Master Eurico, Captain of the 2nd (Tycho) and Reclusiam Sanguinary Guard gave me insight on how I could incorporate pieces of the Blood Angels gear such as the sculpted armor and Angelus Bolters onto my models. That, and how you paint your vehicles let me know exactly how I'm going to paint my top hatches and doors.

Glad to be an inspiration, I'd love to see some pics of your Lamenters (especially your Phoros, maybe you can inspire me), feel free to post them in this thread if you want... edit: found your phoros, very cool. I think I'm going to go for a wrist-mounted Catechist. I already had that sword sitting on the work table, but you just made my final decision...
