I need some ideas...

So, here's the deal. I want to have my HQ(yes, he is in power armor) on this dragon

With a non-elven looking lady on the base beneath. Here comes my problem....

The lady I wanted to use is too large, because she's this Inquisitor miniature

I've dug around and seen no plastic miniatures which look anything like her. If it were possible, ones that could ride behind my HQ would be the ideal, if not, standing and being austerely beautiful as the dragon rushes past overhead will have to work. I hate metal. It's a pain to convert. And this model will already weight a ton because I'll use a base large enough to count as Canis Wolfborn, which will need to be weighed down somehow to keep this lunging dragon from tipping face first and breaking off his head. So plastic is a must.

Secondly, I don't want to use a lance, a whip is too girly for a non-chaos marine, and most swords would be too short to reach down off such a mount. As I want to have what could count as wolf claws while looking like my Chapter Master could actually reach something from up there, I was thinking maybe some sort of gigantic flail like the one the Witch King of Angmar wields in LotR:RotK. However, I'd like some other input because I'd like more blade-ish options that could be used in a highly violent, rapid manner.

So, what does the Bolter and Chainsword think?

CMON is a very popular site for non-gaming miniature painters, so the stuff they feature can include pretty things that don't necessarily have to fit in with a specific game, ideal for projects such as yours.

The CMON shop lists by manufacturer, so you can browse pretty much every available model on the web! Expect to be there for hours, but you will see some very pretty things! I recommend starting a new favourites/star/link folder on your browser to save ones that you might like a second look at.

As to the lance, I would use a solid length of metal rod; as you say, it needs to be long, maybe 4", so use solid rather than tube, but that will be easy to mount, in hand or under armpit, then just augment the handle, add a tip from halberds, glaives etc, even a fist? (Thinking of that Heath Ledger film!)

A banner would also look good.

This should be a magnificent piece if you can pull it off, best of luck, and please post it!

Actually, the weapon is now a moot point, it'll be a flail large enough to be swung with two hands, and he'll just kinda be holding it, with one hand doing the Command Squad Sergeant pointing-at-the-enemy-because-I-apparently-can't-link-in-our-targeting-feeds-so-you-know-which-git-I-want-dead pose. Except it's actually more of a "You there! You're next!" in this case.

And thank you for that link, the Lady is the main thing giving me a pain on this bitz list I'm compiling.

Well, mainly because of the need to weight the base down, the lady will actually wind up being the Brettonian Damsel with Staff on foot, because she'll be metal, unless they release a cooler plastic one. (I almost chose Goldberry from LotR, then decided her face wasn't angelic enough.

Basically, this: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...odId=prod780911

Now, I realize that I have another dillemma. Besides chaos power fists, are there any gauntlets that look like they are clawed? In keeping with the general dragon theme, I'd like the rider to have some taloned gauntlets that, if needed, he could go after someone with, kinda like this dude(the one with the eyebeams): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLLfhO0zXGI

Also, after seeing that for the first time this morning, yes, I noticed that it looks vaguely like Batman and Deadpool fighting Master Cheif Wannabes.

For the PF's, i would use maybe a power claw from the Space Wolves range, because whoever sculpted those I aplaude(sp?) them. the claws are slightly curved, and they are longer, and because of this they look SO bad-ass, unlike the generic ones which are really stunty bad.

Aside from that, I think that Chaos would have to be your best bet. Or, just thought of this, you could convert one of his hands into a real claw sort of thing, maybe get a Drake-like hand from the fantasy range or something.

My 2 cents

Actually, I should have mentioned, I don't want power fists, because they're too bulky to accurately wield a weapon in, aside from the fluff of that not working so well. As for the reptilian hand...well, I'd prefer him to not look mutated. Do you think it would be possible to green stuff sharp points onto his fingertips? The hands involved are the Comman Squad Sergeant pointing arm and the standard bearer's pole arm.

Well, no mutations? that's fine, just sharpen/Greenstuff some really small nails for his armour, that or just take some claws from somewhere and just glue them onto his fingers (with modifications, of course)

Also, with your "YOU ARE NEXT A**HOLE" pose, a flail doesn't really fit the pose when I think about it, since it's just going hanging down from his hand essentialy. unless, of course, you have a way making the flail look really cool and dynamic. just curious as to what you will do about that.

Well, I intend to do one of two things, either have the flail whirling around his head(I'll see what I can do with the wings being in the way), or have it trailing behind him, because the dragon is lunging forward. I would have liked a more static dragon, but the other fantasy ones are all metal and look damn silly with oversized talons. The more I think about it, the more a static rider on a dynamic dragon doesn't make as much sense. Are there any arms that grip a haft held directly in front of the model? I'm thinking something vaguely along the lines of Astorath the Grim's "axe-over-the-head" pose.

Another possibility is the inclusion of yet another large weapon, but I don't want to double dip with flails and a shield isn't exactly conducive to at least counting as wolf claws. Any suggestions? Again, it would have to be large to reach down from Dragonback and kill some sucker.
