Hello there :P

I'm proud to show you here some pics of my DIY Chapter, the Castigators (using BT Codex).

Everything here is WIP :)

At first this is my recently finished LRC (though awaiting painting ;) ) :

Next, my Emperor's Champion. Very classical - I just gave him Helbrecht's backpack without the cross&candles.

My marshall on foot ; Helbrecht with a helmet (did some dremel work to dig a hole under the former head of the model) and a GK terminator spear instead of the sword.

Captain on bike with "Relic blade" when I play with C:SM with a biker list (the spear and bike are not finished) :

Some initiates with bolters (I'm still playing all my initiates with bolt pistol & CCW) :

Wow, lots of comments already ! Thanks mates :tu:

sweet holy land raiders! nice - a crusading chapel. hardcore!

That's exactly what I wanted : a crusading chapel, to bring Imperium artifacts into combat with my warriors and stimulate them ;)

dude love it!!!!

please share a bits list for making the chapel!!!!!

It's simple : the chapel is done using only Basilica Administratum bits, and with the basilica kit you can almost make 2 chapels like this. However the roof is made of plasticard (2mm square rods and 0,25mm sheets) and BT symbols. The pediment is just made of random basilica bits. :)

Really adds a new meaning to spray and pray.

Looking very awesome.

Hehe thanks ;)

I think it would look better if the assault ramp was replaced with some chappel doors just like the ones above. But so far I love it, I love how you dealt with the storm bolter sponson and multi melta biggrin.gif

Good idea ! Well for this one it's not doable but for my next LRC (or LR) I should definitely do this. Thanks for the advice mate ! :P

Don't know about anybody else but I saw the title thread and thought Commisar Molotov was back mellow.gif

(His DIY chapter is the Castigators BTW tongue.gif)

LRC looks cool. Makes me think "Church on Wheels" tongue.gif

Oh-oh, sorry. I knew someone else was using this chapter name here :P Hey, it's a cool name after all, isn't it ? ;)

Church on wheels - that's how my friends call it.

Well if two people take it up, it must be good ;) And that pic happened to be the first thing that sprung to mind :P

Keep at it, should look good when painted up :)

Holy father of...wow. It wounds my Templar pride to know that beauty won't get a proper black paintjob :P

Oh well, at least you're using the Emperor's favored codex :)

I'd happily make one myself if I thought for a moment I could stay sane painting all of that. Gold star for you, good sir. :)

Hahaha Molotovs going to be annoyed, hes kinda famed for his work on the Castigator chapter he has spent years perfecting. :)

I doubt it, he isn't around much anymore, and when he does appear he buggers off again after one or two posts. The only problem the OP will have, will be with other people from around here getting his Chapter constantly confused with Molly's B+C famous Castigators.

Still that is no reason to change his Chapter's name or others to hound him to do so. Chapters having the same or similar names is a common occurance in the official material.

Addendum: There is some evidence to suggest that the Fire Angels as a Chapter may not be the first to hold their name and livery, either in whole or in part; a circumstance which while unusual is not without precedent in the history of the Adeptus Astartes. This problem leads to some confusion as to the provenance of battle honours, and mention of Space Marine units bearing similar titles or derivations of name (rendered both in High and Low Gothic as well as various Administratum vox-compt scripts) that exist in numerous records contradicting the information presented here. This is a problem to which almost no Chapter's record is immune. Such data 'ghosts' are a constant source of difficulty in an Imperium whose incalculable and cyclopean breadth and depth seems only exceeded by the quill-strokes needed to record it by countless hands.

Ouch!

As has been said many times, nobody can truly call 'dibs' on a Chapter's name. I consider myself lucky that the denizens of the B+C even still remember my Castigators - I haven't had much time to work on them for a while.

Nobu: I would be keen to read about your Castigators. Good luck with your force!

Hey again, thanks for the comments. I really appreciate it. Don't hesitate to criticize the model too !

Sorry mate, although my sheme is not far from the BT's one :)

Here is it :

I think my paint pots are gonna cry when the LRC will get close to them... <_<

hmmm... I can finally fill up the empty space on my baneraider with the basilica, can I make something big enought to cover the top of a bane blade about?

The width of a Baneblade isn't really higher than the LRC's one, so I think it should look pretty good on a baneraider.

I doubt it, he isn't around much anymore, and when he does appear he buggers off again after one or two posts. The only problem the OP will have, will be with other people from around here getting his Chapter constantly confused with Molly's B+C famous Castigators.

I don't want to compete with Molotov's chapter at all :P In fact when I found this chapter name (a couple years ago) I was proud to have a chapter name that sounds good and that nobody uses. Then I saw yours. :P But as the sheme, emblem and even codex is completely different I think there's little chance to get any confusion between us :)

Of course I haven't written any piece of fluff about them, so the chapter's name can change :)

Thanks Molotov for the support ! I'll begin painting of my assault terminators this evening and will post some pics of finished material. :)

  • 3 weeks later...

First of all, excellent work there. Very characteristic and unique models. I'm quite liking your terminators too, the marine helms instead of the terminator helms really help capturing a more knightly feel!

Quick question:

I love that sword brethren model! Is it a black templar specific model? or is it kitbashed? Or... I just gotta have me something like this! :P

Thanks Critically_hit :P

The sword brethren is made from this one (bottom-left model) :

http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Custom...ain_873x627.jpg

As you may know these are metal one-block models, so I had to cut the head and right arm (damn these) and replace them with a half-helmet and right arm from this model (bottom center) :

Besides, you can recognize this model (the sternguard one) in my initiates' pic. :)

In fact at first I was playing this chapter with C:SM, so I needed some cool models for my sternguards. I went with a mix of Sternguard and Sword Brethren boxes as you can see.

Now I'm playing with BT codex so I just use them as Command Squad Sword Brethren ;)
