Lachdannan
That is one fine looking command squad. And that marshal is very well done. Really like the glowing lenses you have there. I always have trouble with the red lenses, how did you get yours? The_Chaplain
You will laugh at me. (and this head is a metal one, not finecast) That's some serious dedication to the craft, and makes a strong argument for trying to find a few of those powerfist bits to harvest that head. How bad was the cleanup after hacking it from the hand? Nobu
Thanks to you all mates  That is one fine looking command squad. And that marshal is very well done. Really like the glowing lenses you have there. I always have trouble with the red lenses, how did you get yours? Red glow on copper color is pretty easy, just do some red glazes with a smooth line of orange on the edges. I'm really bad at making glows but with these 2 colors it's easier ! How bad was the cleanup after hacking it from the hand? Not as bad as you could think, the fingers are easy to remove, but the rear of the helmet is more difficult to clean, you have to rebuild a small part of the rear helmet. With a finecast model I think it would be done pretty quickly. I struggled with it when I made it (1+ year ago) mainly because it was metal :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219178-the-castigators-chapter-my-black-templars-diy-chapter/page/3/#findComment-3083584 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
So how did you do the interior of the Emperor's champion cloak/tabarding? That plush, studded fabric design is fabulous. Nobu
It requires some patience but is fairly easy to do. Quick step-by-step : Step 1 : Get a clean, nice base of red (a little darker than Red Blood, ideally a mix of it with Dark Flesh, about 75%-25%). To get a nice tone for clothes, I usually begin with a base of pure Dark Flesh and mix it with more and more Red Blood for each layer, to create the shades. http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/1.jpg Step 2 : Paint the grid with Scorched Brown and a very fine brush : http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/2.jpg Step 3 : Shade the bottom-half of each square with Red Blood + Dark Flesh (50-50) http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/3.jpg Step 4 : A little more shading (25-75) http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/4.jpg Step 5 : A Devlan Mud wash : http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/5.jpg Step 6 : Lightening of the top of each square with either pure Red Blood, or Red Blood + Macharius Solar Orange, or Red Blood + Elf Flesh (you can do all them too :P ) http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/6.jpg Step 7 : Small golden dots on the grid, to create the studs : http://raven-online.fr/up/2012_06_13/7.jpg You're done ! http://raven-online.fr/up/2011_05_15/champ.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219178-the-castigators-chapter-my-black-templars-diy-chapter/page/3/#findComment-3084713 Share on other sites
