nurgling6688
Hey, i was just thinking about this the other day randomly and began to try and make a list of all the major players from the heresy who were originally from Terra. It started because i was thinking about characters that have been around for years that have just recently been revealed to be Terran such as Arhiman. So far heres my list: Terran: Khârn Arhiman Valdor Azreal Qurze Possibly: Garro? Sigismund (I assume most of the Fists are from Terra) Abaddon? Fabius Lucius? Can anyone think of others? I don't know if its just me, but always root a little bit more for the Terran boys, I mean you have to have some home planet pride. Ashe Darke
I'm pretty sure Garro is a Terran. Abaddon is Cthonian through and through. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219181-terran/#findComment-2613943 Share on other sites
Midgard
Wasn't Lucius called "Scion of Chemos" at some point or other? If so, he's definitely not Terran... Also, Qruze is Chtonian (as per "Galaxy in Flames"). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219181-terran/#findComment-2613947 Share on other sites
Captain Juan Juarez
Garro is one of the original Dusk Raiders who fought beside the Emperor Himself, so definately Terran. Ashe Darke
I wouldn't call him a major player but Israfael in Fallen Angels is Terran born. I'm sure this has just escaped my attention but where does it say Khârn is a Terran? Midgard
Khârn is with the Legion when they found Angron - it goes to reason that the Legions were probably almost completely Terran prior to the discovery of their Primarchs. Then again, it is not 100% - Qruze is Chtonian, and yet he represents the "old Legion" (which in turn creates a question on why a Chtonian would be fighting in Unification Wars on Terra before Horus is discovered... on Chtonia). EDIT: Another Terran is Astelan (he of "Angels of Darkness", also in "Tales of Heresy" and "Fallen Angels"). Ashe Darke
Ahhh that makes sense. Cheers. There aren't a lot of Terran marines in the HH books to be honest, well at least ones that are mentioned as being Terran. I'm looking but I'm struggling to find many more. Razhbad
Technically all the Primarchs are Terran Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219181-terran/#findComment-2614507 Share on other sites
Nomus Sardauk
Technically all the Primarchs are Terran Not quite, they never set foot on Terra until the Emperor found them as they were created in Gene-labs under the surface of Luna. Gv0zD
But the primarchs were bred on Terra :) As for OP. Garro is 100% Terran, Abaddon is 100% Cthonian, Lucius most probably from Chemos, as Fabius, I think. Sigismund IMHO is Terran, though I found no concrete evidence. Brother Israfael of Dark Angels is also Terran, as some Dark Angles veteran that accompanied Nemiel in "Fallen Angels" (forgot the name). It was stressed that he had long braided hair like most terran marines, while the newly recruited Calibanites were completely shaved. Razhbad
And if you want to get really technical every Human/Astartes is Terran as humanity only evolved on a single planet and then migrated. After i was born and raised in the UK but technically like every human on the planet i am African as that is where we came from. Gv0zD
:) If we speak of race, then you are right. If we speak of birthplace, then you are not. I am a native Russian. My good friend is from Belarus. He's not Russian. Maybe his children will settle in Russia and become Russians, most probable only his grandchildren will be considered Russians. So people who are Baalites in the 50-th generation are native Baalites, and not Terrans. Pyroclastic
Brother Israfael of Dark Angels is also Terran, as some Dark Angles veteran that accompanied Nemiel in "Fallen Angels" (forgot the name). It was stressed that he had long braided hair like most terran marines, while the newly recruited Calibanites were completely shaved. I believe his name is Sergeant Kohl. Heru
(which in turn creates a question on why a Chtonian would be fighting in Unification Wars on Terra before Horus is discovered... on Chtonia). Horus was the first Primarch found remember. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219181-terran/#findComment-2620867 Share on other sites
lee265
Cthonia Horus's home world is supposed to be seeable and even reachable from earth during old night. perhaps some cthonians are in every legion even before horus is found. Most likely it is an error making him Cthonian and fighting in the unification wars as I remember none of the known primarchs were found untill the great crusade. As I remember the thunder warriors of the unification were the proto astartes. pre legion before they could have there geneseed fully activated. my guess is he was ether one of the first Cthonian recruits just after horus being found, or a terran. Qruze being terran explains why he is so old. perhaps he remembers mark 1 thunder armour. Brother Captain Kezef
Long Fang from Prospero Burns is Terran, he was the last surviving Terran of the 6th legion. Midgard
On the matter of Qruze, him being a Chtonian is pretty definite, as per "Galaxy in Flames", page 265 (where he replies to Keeler with "What do you know of the world of my birth?" when she asks him about Chtonia). Gv0zD
As I'm currently reading "The First Heretic" I'd like to add to a list of Terrans - it's Chaplain Xaphen of the Word Bearers. Necris
Qruze being referred to as "Old Legion" is a representation of him being a steadfast believer in the old methods of the war the Legion used before Horus' elevation to Warmaster, Loken comments on it in one of the first three books that the chapter had changed in it's methods and that some of the oldest of them like Qruze held to the old ways of war.
