Location of Emperor's gene-labs

So I am a little confused... where were the Emperor's gene-labs used in the creation of the Primarchs located? Accordingly to "False Gods", they were beneath the Himalayan mountains on Terra, but latter novels seem to imply they were on Luna ("The First Heretic", I think)... is that a case of a retcon, or a showcase of Chaos' dishonest nature in that it shows different things to different people?

Yeah that confused me

In all the fluff prior, i'm sure they were deep under the Imperial Palace in the Himalayans, although earlier fluff never let on that the palace was in the Himalayas

Under the palace makes more sense to me, but who knows with GW lol

Maybe two different facilities were used.

A "small" research lab on Terra and then the large-scale production facility on Luna.

Additionally, they could be referring to the creation of the actual Primarchs or where the Primarch's genes were created in anticipation of using them as a template for the Legiones Astartes.

Well having got to the end of my 2nd read through of TFH I remember no mention of Luna at all regarding the labs. They're at the same place Horus was which is mentioned in False Gods, I'd look but someone has my copy. Again I don't remember any mention of Luna being the location.
The Imperial Palace covers most of what was once Europe and North Africa, according to a map released by GW. The Emperor's throne room is in Lenton, Nottingham, home of GW.

Any reference to the Imperial Palace and the throne room being anywhere but in the Himalayas has been stomped on by newer fluff. The only reference I ever saw to the Imperial Palace being in Europe was a picture of Terra in the 3rd ed rulebook.

These days, it's part of the Himalayas along with the astronomican, and the labs are deep underground beneath the palace.

Didnt they say that the palace was on the highest mountain?

And by that i dont mean mount Everest as that is retconned to mount Kenau.

Except that this is future Earth, so the landscape may have changed dramatically. There has already been discussions about Earth locations in the 40k in another thread about historical accuracies.
