Brother Caleb
Does a thunderwolf, the rider of which can be seen over a rhino, become obscure if the rhino is between him and someone attempting to fire at him, or does the rhino simply give him a cover save? I ask because TLoS seems to suggest a cover save, but the lack of the model being a monstrous creature may suggest the a block of line of sight. I lean toward TLoS, but I'm just not sure. Haakon Lightfang
I would say TLOS, so cover save. My understanding is that unless it's a gun/banner pole/etc, if you can see it, you can shoot it. wulfen101
I'd have to say it would give a cover save if they can see the rider overtop. At least that's how I play with mine, depends how you've modeled them I supose, mine are made from the plastic juggys, and modeled in doffrent poses, some rearing up, all are on some form of rock outcropping, so they hare fairly tall. I thought this was a fair representaion as aposed to some of the smaller versions I've seen, but that's just me. nurglez
the way true line of sight works, if you can see the model you can shoot at it (range of weapons permitting). model meaning arms, legs head or chest (so if you can only see a hoof, or a hand, you might not be able to shoot). Brother Caleb
I ask, because I got one of the Polish models for my TWL and he's head and shoulders taller than a rhino. MaveriK
I ask, because I got one of the Polish models for my TWL and he's head and shoulders taller than a rhino. I've always been curious about that model.. if its the one I'm thinking about? is it the really bulking beasty looking one? would you care to share some pictures? I've always wanted to see one outside from the ones provided for you on the net. Yep, TLOS is exactly that - True Line of Sight. That's why it is a good easy rules mechanic, and is supposed to take a lot of the guess work out of the game. Want to know if you can shoot? Get down at the level of the firing unit and determine what you can see. Is there a little something in the way? Then he'll get a cover save. Too easy. Oh, and I like to use a simple piece of string to determine if I would have LOS, instead of trying to bend over the table all of the time (I'm old and it hurts my back!). Spacefrisian
Just treat the wolf model as infantry model in regards to cover save. The rhino is in between as a unit so yes you get a cover save. Thinking simple often helps. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219245-thunderwovles-and-vehicle-cover/#findComment-2615696 Share on other sites

Valerian Ancient Valerian? I have never read of such a dreadnought in Ragnar's Great Company.... Ha! You haven't heard of him probably because he doesn't get out of the Fang much anymore. He hangs out inside telling sagas to the little ones, mostly. He only sallies forth to war when the missus and kids are out of town ; ) V Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219245-thunderwovles-and-vehicle-cover/#findComment-2616036 Share on other sites
