Quick question on Lightnings Claws.

I'm looking to model a small list off of Codex Blood Angels, and I'm a bit kerfuffled by the wording on the Lightning Claw upgrades;

In most cases, it states that you can upgrade your "bolt pistol and/or chainsword" to a Lightning Claw at Y points.

In the Troops Assault Squad entry, however, it states "bolt pistol/chainsword" to a Lightning Claw at Z points.

There are several ways of reading this, and the way I WISH to read it is that I can upgrade twice - once for each item - 2xY in the case of "and/or". The wording on RAS units, however, is more sketchy; would paying 2xZ points allow me a RAS Sergeant with a pair of Claws?

I'm not interested in effectivity values or such, I just really need to get a solid answer on this one, as I plan a specific unit dependent on the outcome. Anyone know anything for tourney lists/FAQs/erratas etc. that I've missed?

Thanks in advance.

Threadomancy; no need to start a new thread for nub question number two ^^

Regarding Blood Talons on a Furioso; while the unit entry allows me to only upgrade "Both Blood Fists with a pair of Blood Talons", and I can only upgrade "One Blood Fist with a Frag Cannon" (page 85), the wargear entry for Blood Talons specifically notes that there are different rules for wielding one and two Blood Talons.

My question is then:

Is this rule entirely a balancing issue to make Weapon Destroyed results hit harder on rampaging DC Dreads, or is it in any way possible to upgrade a single Blood Fist, to have a setup of Frag Cannon/Blood Talon (through an errata, FAQ or whatever that I've not been able to dig up)?

While I'm fairly certain the first is the case, any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)

If you exchange both Blood Fists for Blood Talons, you no longer have a Blood Fist to exchange for a Frag Cannon.

If you exchange one Blood Fist for a Frag Cannon, you no longer have both Blood Fists to exchange for Blood Talons.

Very well said, I was hoping someone could put the logic into words that convey the meaning.

If a DC dread loses a blood talon through WD result, then you no longer the get crazy additional attacks, as that rule is only for a pair of blood talons.

The single talon still counts as a claw, and thus gets the reroll to wound at S6.

There is also no way to upgrade to a single talon and frag.
