Captain Engelhardt
Hey everybody, I always wanted to have a Defiler alongside my Pre Heresy/Heresy Era Emperor's Children but never knew how to do one properly. It had to fit the style of the army of course, so a normal Defiler kit was already thrown overboard. Then I stumbled across the Apoc sheet of the Subjugator Titan and the decision was made. I loved the look of it, looking less daemonic than the original Defiler but still making you think about its loyalty to the Big E. At first, let me give you a picture of the old Epic version: http://www.emperorschildren.net/wiki/images/thumb/9/91/Subjugator.jpg/575px-Subjugator.jpg And here's mine. Most of it is done, the only thing that is still really WIP are the claws, they'll get sharpened and all the other fun stuff. So on to the pics, the result after several hours of sculpting, cutting and glueing: http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1915-1.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1916-1.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1917-1.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1920.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1921.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1922.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1919.jpg And the whole thing held together: http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1924.jpg I'll post more pictures once he's done :) Oh, and be assured, he will look a LOT better once he's painted  Somehow it's the same with every one of my sculpts. So long, :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/ Share on other sites
WingsOfTheFalcon
Kudos. My first thoughts on seeing the epic mini was how similar it looks to the FW Brass Scorpion mini, but your version is excellent. Brother Nihm
Well consider me reeled in, hook, line and sinker. Which colours will he be painted in? your PH EC's?, a modified version? (or something entirely different?) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/#findComment-2615978 Share on other sites

Captain Engelhardt
Thanks for the replies :( Nihm: I think I will try it out, really. I love the scheme of the Epic mini and since it's not a Legion engine but (basically) a Mechanicus engine I think a scheme other than EC would be perfectly alright. averykess
Model looks good! The old epic model looks way too eldar for my tastes. Yeah, the eldar psyche created Slaanesh and it is possesed by an Slaaneshi daemon, so it is plausible. Again, awesome model! Captain Juan Juarez
It looks vaguely Eldar but mostly Tyranid... I find it very alluring in a way the Gods may not have intended. Epic Thoughts
I concur on the 'Eldar' feel of the thing. Terrific work! Amazing! This is the sort of stuff that keeps me interested in the hobby, and makes me want to convert and scratch build. SoulTang
Hey ... I like this conversion .... its got a slaan feel for sure. And i really digg the crushed ice/floor/earth at its feet ... gives weight to it. xscottfergox
Screww it looking eldar or tyrandid. I have a distinct feeling its war of the worlds! and i mean the original artwork that acompanied the musical score. Love this. However the only fault i can pick is that the pose looks a bit like it's struggling to stand. BulldogUK
I think this is a fantastic build, it's like Mr Potato head meets Lady GaGa but all in a good way! Captain Engelhardt
So, I finally began painting on this guy, he's maybe 70% done by now. http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1952.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1954.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1960.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/bucket_of_bcb/DSCF1957.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/#findComment-2623414 Share on other sites
FishSpit
Loving the detailed work done on the base. Looks good and crazy, the pink and black came out really well, and overall it's good and solid. Very eldar-esque, but in that corrupted way that is so appropriate for a slaneeshi war engine. SirTainly
Wow that is excellent work! For those that say it looks Eldar, weren't these originally supposed to be corrupted Eldar scout titans? as seen here: http://www.fast-autos.net/diecast-cars-mod...20645020662.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/#findComment-2624259 Share on other sites
koran
Ive been waiting to see someone to do one of these and Im glad the first one I saw was this one, very nice. The legs could be a bit thicker at the thighs but it still looks damn good. Sven Dragonfire
Been toying with this idea for a while now, wasnt even sure how to start it. But this is amazing, absolutly perfect. Well done. I am def going to have a stab at making one of these now. Suitably inspired! I suspect You've made it look easy, but I guess its nothing of the sort . I have a feeling I may be PM ing you every five mins to find out how to do it. lol. Excellent work. Any other Epic to 40k projects in the pipe line? Solid Zaku
Just a question: what are those cheeto-looking things pinned onto the legs in the build phase pictures? What purpose did they serve? Nice paint scheme btw, very RT. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/#findComment-2635046 Share on other sites
Aqui
Just a question: what are those cheeto-looking things pinned onto the legs in the build phase pictures? What purpose did they serve? Nice paint scheme btw, very RT. If I understand you right, they're probably to keep the legs in position until the glue set between the feet and the base(s). A very nice scratch build! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219353-subjugator-titan/#findComment-2635475 Share on other sites
