Razorback with Twin Link Heavy Flamer

Hey everyone,

While I should be working on my LPC, I became inspired to do some converting instead. I've always wanted a Razorback with Twin Linked Heavy Flamers, but no really good options are available. The HF from the Land Speeder Kits is too small. IG Flamers were not really good options either. So I was looking through my bits box and found 2 Flamestorm Cannons from the Land Raider Redeemer. I figured with a little work, these may look about right. I vision the actual weapon to be of larger size, as it it mounted on top of the vehicle.

So here are the parts:

We have the 2 Cannons, mounting bracket and a leftover weapon cover from the Land Raider Redeemer.

I had to extend the mounting bracket a fair bit to allow for the Flamestorm Cannons:

I did a small modification to the Cannons themselves by placing the canisters at the back:

I dry fit it all together to make dis:

I'll glue it all together later tonight. Then I'll need to paint it!

A rather simple build... the hardest part was extending the mounting bracket.

What do you think?

^^ It looks good. Although, the two Flamestorm cannons are a bit over the top!

Personally, for a Flamer Razorback, I'd have just used one on its side and said that it counts as a twin-linked flamer... because hey, it's huge, and double-barreled anyway.

Then, that might be coloured by the fact that both my Flamestorm cannon bits are right-hand. >> Still, you've inspired me to make an Immolator using the same theory. ^^

Doh! I never thought of that one! That would actually work really well!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

ive always like the options for heavy flamers on razorbacjks, especially if youve got a dedicated assault element riding in them.. gives you more reason to get up close and personal

Haha and having a dedicated assault element in them doesnt? :P

the razorback suffers a similar identity crisis to the godhammer land raider.. in that in order to fire the lascannons or whatever you must move 6" or less (not great for a transport) the heavy flamer means you can move 12" first turn or two
