Brother Landrain
Ok, here is my crazy idea for a counts as SW Army... It is a Wolf Centric 13th Company. This company has been lost and in the warp for millenium, slowly they have been transformed by the warp, and are unrecognizable as Space Wolves, but still follow the Great Wolf. HQ - Canis with 2 Wolves -- Converted Herald of Khorne on Juggernaught with 2 Fleshhounds of Khorne Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf, Frost Weapon, Storm Shield, with 2 Wolves -- Converted Herald of Khorne on Juggernaught with 2 Fleshhounds of Khorne Bjorn the Fellhand with TWL -- Converted Soulgriner Elite 3 x Lone Wolf in Terminator Armour, Wolf Claw, Storm Shield, with two Wolves -- Converted Daemon Prince with 2 Fleshhounds of Khorne Troops 3x 14 Fenrisian Wolves and Cyberwolf -- 14 Chaos Warhounds with 1 Fleshhound of Khorne Fast Attack 2x 3 Thunderwolf with 3x SS, 1x PF, 1 Mark of Wulfen -- Converted Bloodcrushers of Khorne I think it would be a cool Army on the table to see, any thoughts? Heimdal
Mutated Space marines that still loyal to the Imperium isnt unheard of (Souldrinkers), nu what're you are proposing is a complete corruption in flesh but not in mind. Its a cool idea using chaos models and sw rules gamewise, but I wouldnt buy it fluffwise, because the level of corruption. +edit+ Corrected spelling errors. I hate my phone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219430-a-counts-as-space-wolf-army-idea/#findComment-2617047 Share on other sites
Sigmund Hammerhand
Well if you do this, you have to be aware of the need to play for utter annihilation each and every game because you don't have any troops (unless I misunderstood your intent and you're actually using the CSM codex, in which case I've got no idea whether flesh hounds are scoring or not). This would fit with the fluff, though because I'd assume that this kind of army shows up on the battlefield and then rips the enemy to shreds. No such thing has holding strategic locations. Could be cool if you pull it off, but where I see a problem is Bjorn as converted soul grinder - Bjorn's a dreadnought, and he looks nothing like a soul grinder, has nowhere near his footprint or his size and therefore alters quite drastically how the model would play so if at all possible, you'd only be able to play him with friends. I'd just use a chaos dreadnought model with some pelts and fangs modelled onto it or something, in order for it to be legal. Brother Landrain
Yeah, no holding Objectives with only wolves as troops. It is definately a kill them all army. I dont think it would be very competitive, more of a fun army. Launch everything at the enemy and watch the carnage. The Bjorn model would need a lot of converting, I hate the silly Wild Wild West spider legs on soulgrinders, but the Body and the weapons would work size wise.
